I come out in a long flowing red dress and ask Megan what she thinks. "Um. I don't think so." I walk back in and try on a short purple dress. "No way!" Megan says. I think after that I tried on 8 other dresses until I try on a yellowish medium length dress and Megan yells, "That's the one!" I look at the price tag and see that this dress is $250.00! "Oh my gosh!" I say. "What's wrong Jane?" "Well this dress is $250.00! I can't afford that!" I reply. "That won't be a problem." "What are you talking about? I only brought $150.00!" I say back. Megan then points to a sign above the rack of dresses. The sign reads 1/2 of all dresses! I finally look at my self in the mirror and notice how pretty this dress is. "I look beautiful." I say under my breath. "Megan, you know how I didn't want to go to the dance at first?" I say. "Yeah, continue." "Well I've had a change of mind." "REALLY! Oh my goodness. I can't believe you just said that!" Megan squeals. "It's a miracle!"
Megan grabs me and my new dress and she pulls me out the door. I drop the money on the counter, and run out the door.
"Where are we going?" I shout. "To my house" Megan shouts back. We run for another 10 minutes, when we finally arrive. Megan is still running as fast as she can to get to her room. Once we finally stop running she sits me down and tells me to drink water. "What is going on Megan?" I ask her. She says nothing and runs into her bathroom. I repeat what I said before and all she says is, "You'll see."

After sitting in a chair for one hour, she tells me to put my new dress on and look in the mirror. I stare at my self in the mirror for 30 seconds and turn to see Megan staring at me. "You've done in again Megan." Megan says under her breath. "What was this all for Megan?" I say in a rude tone. "I just wanted to show you how beautiful you could be." She explains. "Well I'm not beautiful!" I say as I run out the door. I keep running until I make it into my room at home. I slip on my sweats and my T-shirt, and slowly fall to the ground. I burst into tears. "I am not beautiful. No one likes me!" I say under my breath.
I sit in a quiet corner reading my favorite book as tears slowly roll down my face. I hear a knock at my door and before I could answer, my sister opens the door. "Purple or white Jane?" She asks. "The light purple looks good." I sob. "What's wrong Jane?" She asks. "Oh nothing." "Come on Jane, I know something's wrong. I've seen that look I've worn that look." I chuckle a little and wipe my tears away."  "Jane, you are beautiful and you need to realize that, or your going to have a hard time in middle school." Missy tells me. "Your right Missy. I need to embrace my inner beauty."  "There you go Jane."
Shortly after our conversation she leaves my bed room.
Once I pull my self together I head back over to Megan's house to apologize.  Once I arrive Megan answers the door and doesn't look to happy to see me.  "Megan? I have done something terribly wrong." "Continue." Megan said.  "It was rude of me to just run out of your house like that. I'm very sorry, you were just trying to help." I sob.  "Oh Jane don't cry. It's ok, I forgive you. It's just hard for some people see there inner beauty." Megan replies.  "Well thanks for forgiving me." "Anytime. I'll see tomorrow at 6:30 am so I can pick out your outfit, hair, and makeup." Megan says. "Ok see you then." I giggle.
