"Shoot it!" The brunette boy, Dan, cries as the gun goes off. The vision of the faceless woman in front of them flickers out.
"Make a salt circle and get inside." Phil orders as he looks around. "And do not leave it at all costs." Dan runs to the kitchen and grabs a box of salt, pouring it into a perfect circle. He was all about symmetry, even in life or death situations.
As Dan finished the circle, he turned and came face to face with the faceless woman yet again. He screamed and the gunshot went off.
"Lily!" Phil yelled. "Burn the bones, hurry up!" Phil backed up to the salt line, gun ready to fire.
The ghost threw Phil up against the wall, the gun falling out of his hands. The faceless woman had him by the throat then, and Phil fought against her magical grasp, struggling for air.
Dan's vision turned towards the gun, and he raced for it, loading it and firing it. Phil crashed to the floor, taking labored breaths. He glanced up at Dan, now outside the salt circle, and his eyes widened at what was behind him.
Dan noticed and turned around, only to witness the ghost reaching for his throat...
Then suddenly it's hands started to smoke, and the woman stumbled backwards. It started to screech as it went up in flames, and soon all that was left was the old nightgown and ashes.
A black haired, brown eyed girl ran into the room. "Is it gone?" She asked, running over to Phil to help him up. Phil nodded, glancing at Dan.
"Yeah, Lily. It is." He said, and Lily followed his gaze to Dan. "You saved me," said Phil, walking over to see him. "Thank you." He wrapped his arm around the slightly taller boy in front of him. Dan placed his arm around Phil, and Lily cleared her throat.
"It's almost morning, Phil. We should get going." Lily said, placing her gun inside the waistband of her jeans. Phil let go of Dan and nodded.
Dan looked around his once haunted house. "Is it safe here?" He asked the two boys. Lily nodded and pounded Dan on the back.
"It is, now. But I'm not sure you'll want to live here anymore." Phil said, noting all the boxes around the room. "There are some nice places up in Iowa, I hear." Dan chuckled and gave Phil one last hug.
"Thank you guys for saving me." He said, giving Lily a hug. "I could've died tonight."
Lily smiled, lighting up the room slightly. "Just doing our job." She said, walking out the door, Phil following her lead. He looked back at the brown haired, brown eyed, dimpled boy behind him. Somehow, Phil knew he was going to meet Dan again, but now wasn't the time.
Phil nodded, and walked out the door.
