Chapter 1
"Come on Luc, it could be fun," My friend Anna begged me trying to get me out of bed.
"Why? I won't know anyone anyways," I whined covering my face with a pillow.
"Maybe you will! Besides I don't want to go alone!"
"Fine, I will!" I finally gave in.
"Yay!" She clapped her hands.
"Can I borrow a dress?" I asked.
"Sure," She ran into her room and left me to my thoughts. Anna was...nope scratch that....since now I'm going. We're going to a wedding of one of her old friends and now I was forced to go.
"Here you go, I'm going to go get some accessories" Anna said tossing a purple dress.
I went into our shared bathroom and started the shower and started stripping from my clothes and glasses and hopped in. Once I was done I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I walked out into my bedroom and found everything lay out on my bed including matching black lace bra and panties. "You're ghastly!" I yelled and heard her laugh from her room. "Guess I'm dressing like a stripper," I mumbled to myself. I grabbed my make-up bag and contacts and went back into the bathroom and found Anna putting on her make-up already. I put in my contacts and was about to do my make-up.
"Oooh, I'll do yours!" She squealed as she set me in a chair she brought from her room.
I sighed and relaxed as she took over and fell asleep for a little bit.
"Lucy, Luc, get up!" Anna said shaking me.
"Huh? What?" I said sitting up.
"I'm done," She answered.
"Already?" I asked.
"It's been an hour," She laughed.
"Oh, well how do I look?" I asked.
"Fabulous!" She said sarcastically.
I got up and looked at myself in the mirror. I had light purple eye shadow with black mascara and light blush. "I look amazing!" I gasped.
"Of course you do!" She laughed. "Now go get dressed!"
I laughed walking back into my room and taking of my towel and slipping on the delicate undergarments and the purple dress that was strapless and went just above my knees and had little crystals going up the middle. I went over to my jewelry box and put on some pearl earrings and a bow necklace. I looked up in my mirror and put a black headband with a flower on it and set it on my curly hair.
"Are you ready yet?" Anna called sticking her head in from the bathroom.
"Yep," I answered slipping on my black dress coat. We walked out of our apartment linking arms and locked the door saying hi to our retired neighbor, Mr. Sherman.
"Hello ladies, you look fine this evening," He complimented.
"Thank you," We answered in unison walking down the hall to the elevator and riding down to the lobby. We said hello to the doorman and walked out the front door trying to whistle down a cab. Finally after five minutes one pulled over. Anna gave the cab driver directions to the wedding and we drove off.
After about a half an hour the cab pulled over and Anna paid him. We got out of the cab and walked down a side walk that had trees all around it and lead up to a really fancy building. "Wow," I whispered.
"I know," Anna answered.
We walked in and the reception party had already started and everyone was eating. Anna picked up the card that said where we were supposed to sit and found our seats. Dinner was served and we sat awkwardly as the people sitting around us talked. Dessert came next and I ate little not really wanting to be here.
