Dursley Slytherin Mudblood

Chapter 2

The minute I step into Diagon Alley, I'm in awe. It's incredible! I instantly know which one is the Joke Shop. Lily points to and explains each shop. Most of the people hear are dressed in long robes and pointed hats. There's a lot of strange things they carry in there shopping bags. One of these strange families comes over to talk to the Potters. A lot of people wave and point and whisper, but these guys act more like friends.

"Ron, Hermione, this is my cousin's daughter. Demi, their son Hugo is starting at Hogwarts this year as well," Harry introduces us.

Ron doesn't look very pleased to meet me, "Wait, the daughter of that bullying git that—"

"Ron!" Hermione scolds.

"So was Malfoy, and now his son's Al's best friend," Ginny points out.

"Speak of the devil," Ron gestures towards three blondes coming out of one of the shops.

The father of the family notices the Potters, and quickly tries to usher his son into another shop to avoid an awkward conversation. Unfortunately for him, his son spots Albus, and comes straight over.

"How are you Scorpius?" Harry asks politely, "and Draco, you and your wife as well?" He finishes as Draco reluctantly joins the group.

"Great! How's my best mate?" Scorpius ruffles Albus's hair.

"Just because my hair's already a mess..."

"So who's this?" Scorpius asks noticing me for the first time.

"Dad's cousin's daughter," Albus replies.

"So that makes her your..."

"No idea."

"Simple enough," Scorpius holds out his hand, "Scorpius Malfoy."

"Mudblood," I hear Draco mutter the unfamiliar word under his breath.
"Draco!" His wife whisper yells, and gives him a disapproving glare.

Nobody else seems to have heard, but if they did, they're choosing to ignore it. I shrug it off, concluding it's not that big if a deal. I'll ask Lily what it means later.

"Why don't we break up into groups?" Harry suggests.

Everyone starts shifting toward who they want to be with, and everyone ends up wanting to be with Lily.

"Okay, since Lily's so popular, I'm going to have to split you guys up. Unless you all want to go together."

There are several "No!"'s so Harry splits us up, " Let's have you go by year. Albus, Scorpius, and Rose. Lily, Demi, and Hugo. And James..."

"I'll find someone," James shrugs, looking towards the joke shop.

"Alright, that's settled then."

"Can I switch with Hugo?" Rose complains.

"Why don't you talk to Hugo about that," Harry resolves, and Hugo agrees.

I have a great time with Lily and Rose! My favorite shop is the same as Lily's: Weasleys Wizard Wheezes. Rose's is Flourish and Blotts, the book store. I learn her mother and her are really into books. I also learn that Rose has a secret crush on Scorpius. That's not all I learn.

Not only do I learn all about Rose and Lily, but I also learn more about Hogwarts. They tell me all about the four houses, and how they know people in every one. Lily, James, and Hugo are in Gryffindor. Rose is in Ravenclaw. Albus and Scorpius are in Slytherin. There's also a house called Hufflepuff, but I don't know anyone they know in that house. I want to be in Gryffindor to be with Lily, or even Ravenclaw with Rose, but Slytherin sounds more like my type of house.

When the Potter's drop me off at the front of the house (Something called Apparation)(we didn't want to alarm mum, who's home from work by now, by coming shooting out of the fireplace) I see dad's car in the driveway. I'm a little nervous, not knowing what to say to him, or what he'll say to me. I remember Denny and my little episode from earlier, and want to be home even less.

I slowly open the door to find the whole family having dinner in the kitchen.

"Where have you been?" Mum asks.

"Denny didn't tell you?" Of course not.

"I didn't ask, I just assumed you were with a friend. Is there something I should know about?" She asks suspiciously.

"Well, you know the letter I got?" Dad cringes, "Harry Potter, dad's cousin, he's a wizard too, and he took me school shopping."

"He's a... You didn't tell me?" She's looking at dad. The she gets up, and furiously leaves the room.

These weeks before Hogwarts are going to be a lot longer than I anticipated.
