"Wow!" I don't mean to say it out loud, but I can't keep it in.
"Beautiful isn't it?" One of the blonde twins I saw earlier says.
"Our third time riding it," the other one comments, "I'm Lysander."
"Lorcan Scamander," the other one introduces himself.
"Demi. I have a twin brother too." I tell them.
"Facinating! Where is he?" Lorcan asks, "Can you tell us apart? I find being twin helps me tell apart other twins."
"Yeah, I can, even though my brother and I aren't identical. I mean, he's a boy, I'm a girl. He's at home. He's a what do you call it?"
"Sleep?" Lysander says same time Lorcan says, "Muggle."
"Wow. For twins you don't think alike. He's a muggle. My whole family except me are muggles. Well, I guess my dad's cousin and his family are wizards, so not my whole entire family. Do you guys know a Harry Potter?" I ask.
"Everyone knows Harry Potter!" The chorus.
"So you do do the creepy sync thing twins do. I'm going to fail at Hogwarts! I don't even know why my relative's famous!"
"Don't worry we'll help you out," Lysander offers.
"Yeah I'm in Ravenclaw!" Lorcan says,"If you know what that is..."
"I do. Lily told me some things about Hogwarts. Are you in Ravenclaw too?" I ask Lysander.
"Nah, I'm Gryffindor!" He says proudly, "I'll tell you all about your dad's cousin on the train."
"That is... If you want to sit with us," Lorcan says a little shyly.
"Of course I would!" they beam, "Let me say hi - er - goodbye to my wizard family real quick," They nod, and I go over were the Potters and standing with the Weasleys and give Harry and Ginny a hug. I let Lily know about my invitation from the twins, and she invites herself to join. We find an empty compartment, and Lysander helps me with my luggage as Lorcan helps Lily with hers.
"You know, you don't look eleven," Lysander winks at me.
"I'm actually almost twelve," I inform him.
Lily and I sit on one bench, and the twins sit across from us. We're soon joined by Albus and Scorpius who claims they can't find anywhere else, but I notice Scorpius can't keep his eyes off Lily. Later Rose joins the party, which I can tell is just to be with Scorpius, who I'm positive knows about her crush. James and the rest of the Weasley cousins are in and out of the compartment throughout the ride. By the time we arrive I know all Lily's cousins and know the whole Harry Potter story.
"Firs' years this way! Firs' years follow me!" Hagrid's loud voice is easily heard from the front to the end of the train.
Lily and I say goodbye to everyone, and head to where Hagrid's calling us. We climb into boats and row across a huge lake, to the school, or castle, I think is a better word for it. No words could describe the beauty of the castle and it's grounds (though Albus and Lorcan tried).
Once we're in the school Hagrid leads us through a maze of halls (I'm sure I'll get lost more times than I'll be able to count). We stop in front of an old woman standing in front of gigantic doors. She introduces herself as Professor McGonagall, and explains the four houses to us. Then she leads us through the doors into a huge room, Lily refers to as the Great Hall. We walk to the front where Professor McGonagall holds up a very old, worn, patched up, burnt hat. Without warning the hat bursts into song.
"Oh I've been through a lot you see
But that doesn't stop me from fulfilling my destiny
To sort you into your rightful house
Where you will bond with others and live throughout
Your seven years at this glorious school
Founded by the Houses four
Gryffindor
Slytherin
Ravenclaw
Hufflepuff
Now let the sorting begin
I'll tell you where you belong!"The whole hall bursts into applause for the hat.
"Alley, Brady," Professor McGonagall calls from a list of names she holds, "
A boy with blonde hair and stunning blue eyes passes me on his way to the hat. He sits on the stool, and the hat is placed on his head.
The hat scrunches up, like it's thinking, and once it's decided shouts, "Hufflepuff!"
The boy takes off the hat, and heads toward the table with black and yellow banners.
Not many more names are called before they get to mine.
"Dursley, Demitria,"
I follow Alley, Brady's lead. I walk up to the stool, and the hat's placed on my head. Albus said the hat talked to him a lot before deciding Slytherin, but the hat doesn't talk to me at all. It's only on my head for a few seconds before it shouts, "SLYTHERIN"
I take a seat at the table with green and silver banners, in between Albus and Scorpius who waved me over.
"So you're with us then?" Albus says excitedly.
"One down one to go," says Scorpius looking at Lily.
I hedge him, and wiggle my eyebrows at him as soon as Albus looks away.
Scorpius scowls, "How did you know?" He whispers.
"I went to muggle school, and you make it pretty obvious. I noticed James glaring at you on the train. I'm pretty sure Albus and Lily and oblivious though," I whisper back.
"DON'T TELL THEM!" He growls through gritted teeth.
"Course not!" I wink.
I watch Alice Longbottom get sorted into Gryffindor before Scorpius speaks again.
"I'm not as bad - er - obviously as Rose am I?"
"Oh, defiantly not. For one you don't tell the world," I shrug, "I guess you really aren't that obvious. Other than you stare at her a lot. I'm just good at telling."
"Potter, Lily."
The whole room goes silent as Lily walks to the hat. I know exactly where she's going, and I know Scorpius does too.
"Doesn't hurt to hope, right?" I ask.
"I hope not," what's that supposed to mean?
"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat bellows, and cheers erupt from James's table.
"Why do I try?" Says Scorpius, disappointed.
I pat him on the back, "I feel for you."
