"Get in the car, now." D ordered quickly after quickly leaving the car. Arina didn't, and quite literally couldn't bring herself to, argue. She immediately did as he said and shuffled in.
D stood, face-to-face, with Haden.
"What do you think you are doing?!" D broke the silence.
"Nothing that concerns you," Haden retorted. Despite the situation, he had his usual indifferent demeanour.
"Of course it concerns me! Don't be so stupid and arrogant to think you could just come along whenever you want. None of this has anything to do with you, so stay away from her or else." D turned back around to walk back to the car, but Haden grabbed him by his elbow, stopping him from leaving.
Arina's heart stopped, she was frightened a fight might break out.
"Is that a threat?" Haden now looked angry. It was the first time Arina had ever seen him as angry as he was now.
"Would it make a difference if it was?"
"Yes, it would. Is that a threat or not?"
"Don't make this your problem. Just stay away from her, okay?!"
"Make me." Haden's jaw clenched hard.
D took a deep breath as if he was contemplating how to respond. However, instead of responding with words, he spoke with actions. He clenched his fist and threw a hard punch into Haden's left cheek. Haden quickly placed his hand on his cheek out of pain.
Arina screamed and rushed out of the car.
"What did you do that for?!" She shouted as she ran over to Haden's side. She placed one of her arms on his shoulder while he had his head bowed down low.
"Get back in the car, Arina." D said while shaking his soar knuckles. He had punched Haden so hard and so it wasn't surprising that Haden could barely move his jaw now.
"No! Apologize." Though an apology wouldn't make the situation any better, Arina remembered that that was what her Baba taught her to do whenever she got in a fight. She now decided to implement that in this situation.
"Apologize? Don't be so ridiculous."
D knew it would be a lost cause to argue with Arina until she agreed to move, so he left her with Haden and went back to the car, sitting firmly in the driver's seat.
"You can come now, or I can leave you and wait for Mustafa to get you." D's voice now fell gratingly.
Arina knew she had no choice, but she was shocked at D. How could he be so evil to threaten her with something like that? He knew what she had been through with Mustafa, so for him to be bringing him up was incredibly unfair to Arina.
After whispering a quiet 'sorry' to Haden, she watched him struggle on the ground as she walked up to the car. The other girls in the car continually stared at Arina. It was surprising due to the fact, usually the other girls were far too drugged up or pre-occupied to be watching Arina's antics.
Without another word, D started up the vehicle. Arina watched his fixed, defined, facial expressions in the car mirror. She had never seen him happy ever since she had arrived.
D drove up to the brothel. He looked extremely furious to Arina as he slammed the car door shut and walked up past the big red gates. The other girls also noticed D's fury. One-by-one they all, including Arina, exited the car and entered the grey, bleak building..
