Calebs P.O.V
I couldn't sleep that night after realising that the beautiful girl from last night was sleeping just beyond the brick wall behind my bed. Her scent was over powering, it smelt of vanilla. My wolf relished in her scent all night, whining and thrashing about under the duvet. I'd listened carefully during the early hours of the morning, hearing her breathing and soft moans in her sleep had caused my body to react in a surprising way. I found myself running one hand through my black hair, grabbing it and yanking gently as my other hand ran slowly down my stomach.
Stop.
I groaned, pulling myself out of bed. I showered under cold water, enjoying the cooling effect it had upon my burning skin. I lazily pulled on a pair of grey sweat pants and a black shirt that clung to my torso. I ruffled my hair and slapped each cheek, a morning ritual of mine. "Alright, Caleb, let's do this." I ran down the stairs, grabbing a bottle of both red and white wine from the rack and left the house. The morning sun was too bright for my brown eyes so I squinted, deciding to cut across the lawn rather than follow the path around. When I got to the door I stopped and inhaled deeply, her scent was still here but somewhat weaker. She must be out.
I raised a hand to knock on the large, wooden door but it opened before I had the chance.
"Oh, hello." The elderly man looked me up and down, a suspicious glint in his eye. "Can I help you, lad?" A shaky, wrinkled hand rested upon his weak hip and he puffed out his chest.
"I just thought I'd pop around and welcome you to the neighbourhood, sir." I smiled reassuringly, raising each hand to show the bottles.
"Dad?" A woman approached the front door, putting a manicured hand on his shoulder. "Why don't you go and lie down?"
"He's brought wine, Vanessa!" As if that were his reason, he reached enthusiastically for the red wine in my right hand but Vanessa pulled him back. They shared a look before he sighed in defeat and retreated down the hallway.
"Hello, lovely." The lady beamed, showing perfectly white teeth. The sun reflected off of her bright blonde hair and I looked down, noting the slight bump of her stomach. I explained why I was here and she invited me in. Calling out the names of her family members as she walked, Vanessa led me into the kitchen where she asked me to place the wine bottles on a glass table top.
"Patrick, come down stairs." She called. "Lilian, come along please."
"Mom, I'm studying.." A young girl stumbled into the kitchen, her short purple hair a wild mess upon her head. She looked me up and down, her eyes wide. "But that can wait." She finished, biting her bottom lip and smiling. She was short, about 5'4, with a fantastically curved figure. Her jeans looked almost as though they were sprayed on and the black top rose above her navel showing her tanned stomach.
"Hi, I'm Lily." She thrust a dainty hand towards me and I took it, covering it with my much larger hand and placed my lips gently on her knuckles.
"Its a pleasure, Lily. I'm Caleb from next door." She giggled as I let her hand drop to her side.
"And I'm Patrick, excuse me for not kissing your hand." A man, obviously Lilians father, shook my hand firmly and winked. "The old fart at the door was Henry, my step father." He explained, avoiding a slap from Vanessa as he circled the table and grabbed three glasses from a cupboard above an expensive looking cooker.
"Is it just the four of you?" I asked, taking a seat along side the eager Lilian and nodding as Patrick held up the white wine in offering.
"Our oldest daughter is out job hunting at the moment but she'll be home shortly." Vanessa answered. "Do you know of anywhere she'd have any luck?"
