"What?" I yelled, standing and backing away from my father.

"The weres told me, Caleb." My father said soothingly. "You were drunk and things got out of hand."

Yes, that's true." I cried, my anger bubbling up inside of me. "But I didn't kill him, pap. We got into a fight, I walked away."

"Caleb, denial won't help you. You silvered him." My eyes turned yellow, giving my eyes the appearance of being much larger but I squinted them, growling.

"I never have and never would silver a were, I have respect, father!" I spat.

"You were drunk." He stated, as if that explained everything.

I was fuming, my heart was pounding and my wolf was howling, crying to be let out. I did not kill Russell, as much as I'd have liked to at the time, I did not kill him.

I crouched down, moving slowly. I can't get any closer or they'll smell me. They would have both smelt me already if it weren't for their distractions, I was lucky. The young one jumped up from the sofa and backed away from the older were. I had a clean shot. I removed the silver needle from my pocket and placed it in the tube in my hand, bringing it to my mouth and inhaling deeply to fill my lungs.

'POP'

The needle flew but the young one turned, crying out as the needle embedded itself in his shoulder. The older were stood and bounded towards me, taking the steps three at a time. I stood and flung my fist around, the buttons of silver attached to my knuckles connecting with his jaw. He fell back and then the other one came. He dodged every punch and kick I threw and pinned me hard against the wall. "Who are you?" He snarled, leaning in to me, bright yellow eyes staring me down. I quickly grabbed the bag in my pocket and pierced it with my nail. I flung it round and pushed my palm hard against the weres ear. The wolfsbane made contact and I heard his flesh begin to sizzle as he roared out in agony.

"Wake up, Caleb. Come on." The voice was heavenly, I sighed and lent into the hand cupping my face. "Caleb, open your eyes."

I did and everything was a blur. I stood quickly, crouching down into a fighting stance and came eye to eye with Tessie. I straightened my stance and let my jaw drop. She is beautiful. "Are you okay?" I nodded. She smiled reassuringly, leading me to my kitchen. She ordered me to sit and I did, watching her as she collected the first aid box and brought it over to me. She brought out a wipe and began lightly dabbing the side of my head. "What happened?" She stuck out her tongue in concentration and all I could think about was catching it between my teeth and running my tongue across it.

"I don't really know." I lied. She looked at me as though she knew I'd lied but let it go none the less.

"My head is fine," I whimpered, her touch sending shivers down my spine. "But there is something stuck in my shoulder." I stood, looking down at her, she looked up with a shy smile. I removed my shirt and dropped it to the floor. Tessie swallowed hard and blushed.

"Turn around." She said and reluctantly, I turned away from her. "Oh my goodness," She whispered. "This is going to hurt, are you ready?" I nodded, sitting, hanging my head low and biting my lip. As she pulled the silver from me I felt it burning a hole in me and it took every ounce of my self control not to scream. "How did this happen?" She exclaimed. Coming to kneel in front of me. When she saw my tear filled eyes she dropped the needle and gently lifted my chin.

"Its okay," She whispered, running her hand along my jaw line. "Its done now, all bandaged up." My body was still shaking from the pain and so she brought her other hand up, cupping my face. "Do you want to go to hospital?"

I looked into those bright green eyes, filled with concern and shook my head. "I don't want to go anywhere." I whispered, sliding my hand around the back of her neck. Her skin was so soft it made me shudder in delight. I saw that she was shaking too but I couldn't bring myself to stop. I pulled her to me and gently placed my lips on hers, running my hand down her neck to her shoulder, my fingertips gliding over her skin. Tessie moaned, biting my bottom lip. I growled with pleasure. I could feel the place on her skin where my mark should be and my wolf begged. 'Mark her.'
