"I saved you from that mob that was chasing us" Yuza

I said softly..
As I try.. to make myself understandable while explaining things to her..

"Those people didn't look too friendly... not to us..
If we didn't run, we would've been road kill" Yuza

Kisara blinked with confusion and fear flickering in her pale eyes.

"They were all... mad?" Kisara

She asked.

"Yeah.." Yuza

I murmured, my voice low but firm.

"Let's just say they were... confused." Yuza

Her breathing quickened, panic spreading across her face.
I could see the fear in her eyes
The kind that comes from not understanding why the world suddenly turns against you.
Her long, bluish-white hair trembled around her shoulders like fading light.
I reached out, steadying my voice

Desperately.. trying to keep her grounded.

"Hey... it's okay.... you're safe now." Yuza

The truth was far worse than I wanted her to know.
That crowd.. they weren't just an angry mob.
They were killers dressed as common villagers, driven by desperation.
They're not just people looking for trouble..
Hunters.. preying on anyone they can find anything to earn enough to survive.
My eyes drifted toward the horizon
Where.. smoke still lingered from the chaos we escaped...

"They've lived in poverty for too long" Yuza

I murmured.

"Their way of life... it's broken. They've turned cruel just to keep living." Yuza

I turned back to Kisara.
Her eyes were wide and trembling with a reflection of fear and sorrow.

"How awlful.." Kisara

She whispered.

"If this is how things will continue... just like this..." Kisara

I smiled softly..
Trying to ease the weight in her voice...

"But... you don't need to worry about them anymore. As long as we're far away, they won't touch you." Yuza

Kisara let out a small breath
Her expression was softening.

"They're far from us now.." Kisara

She murmured.. almost as if convincing herself.

"They won't find us..." Kisara

A faint smile crossed her lips.

"Thank you, truly.." Kisara

She said.

"Anything.. else is a matter in need.
Don't thank me for it. It's all you" Yuza

"For saving me. I owe you my life. I was... at risk, but you still helped me. You're far too kind.
I offer you.. my gratitude.." Kisara

I met her eyes with quiet warmth.

"Just remember" Yuza

I said softly..

"always.. trust in the light of your heart." Yuza

Those words...
They were the same ones Atem used to tell me. They'd stayed with me ever since... he left the modern world for Eqypt
Sharing them with Kisara felt right
It was something she needed to hear, something that might guide her.
She carried the spirit of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon within her... and.. she needed to learn to trust in that light.

My eyes closed for a moment.
I wanted her to hear my own truth in my voice, to understand.

Hopefully.. to my understanding..

"If nothing changes.." Yuza

I murmured, opening them again..

"Then.. neither will we. If we keep moving... if we keep trying... maybe things will get better." Yuza

I glanced toward the dim light ahead as shadows were flickering like the edge of hope.

"That's why we came here.. as long as I'm looking for... the hope I'm looking for. It's the only way forward." Yuza

I said quietly.

"I'm sure.. we'll find a way.. out together.
We can be stuck in this cave way too long.." Kisara

And in that silence.. for the first time
The night felt a little less cold as it was getting warmer in here..
