BEEP BEEP BEEP. Kathrine slapped the button on top of the alarm clock. She yawned and sat up. She slumped over and walked to the kitchen to make some coffee. Of course Mr. Grey was already there. He was already dressed and sipping on some dark roasted coffee like usual. Kathrine made a cappuccino. She sat next to Mr. Grey.
"How was your sleep?" She asked, still half asleep.
He ignored her for a few seconds. Then he answered in a dead voice
"Wonderful"
He finished his coffee and looked at her straight into her eyes.
"For your first job I want you to rob the National Bank"
She laughed and then looked at him. His face showed no emotion.
"W-What do you mean?"
Then he laughed at her.
"Relax! I just want you to pretend to be my girlfriend"
Kathrine shook her head.
"For what?"
"To get away from all of the crazy girls!"
She just wanted to get away from him. Not be with him! She dazed off, thinking about what would happen. Mr. Grey noticed this and snapped his fingers in front of her face.
"Again, this is TEMPORARY and FAKE" He said with a very stern tone.
"I know I know" I waved his question away.
They went down the elevator and to the mall to buy me some new clothes. Her old clothes smelled horrible since She hasn't washed them in a while. They stepped out of the car and again, girls flooded over to us. He put his arm over my shoulder and kissed my cheek. They stopped squealing and loaded him with questions.
"Are you dating HER!?" She asked so disgusted
"Yes I am. Do you have a problem with that?" He towered over her. She crawled up and replied,
"N-no"
"Good" He smiled and picked up the pace. The other girls stayed far behind.
"See? It works" He said, obviously amused with himself.
"Wow, aren't you just so smart" She teased
He smiled and kissed her head.
"What was that for?" She smiled
"Just to make the girls behind us jealous. They're still watching"
"Ah I see"
We went into Coach
"I can't believe you can afford all of this!" She exclaimed.
He shrugged. "I almost have a billion dollars so honestly, hundreds of dollars don't really matter to me"
She bought a beautiful black leather purse for $300, A gold watch for $600, and some aviator sunglasses for $100. Then we went back home and bought some designer dresses. He said it was mandatory and that all of his girlfriend's must present nice. He picked all of the dresses since he had better taste. He also ordered some heels that would go along with my dress.
Then he ordered comfortable clothes for when we're inside and not traveling to different areas of the world in his private jet.
They all arrived 3 days later. Kathrine practiced walking in heels. It took hours and hours for her to finally master it. But she got blisters all over her feet.
Mr. Grey made some simple spaghetti and noodles because she told him that she was home sick from her normal life. She slowly ate it like he taught her. She never learned manners as a child.
"When will you let me go?"
"When you are no use to me" he said coldly
That hurt her. It was like a sword to the heart. She sucked it up and went along with it.
" I hate this lifestyle anyways" She said softly
"Yeah, go back to your poor life in the suburbans" he said roughly.
"You probably would've been kicked out of your apartment and have no where to live if it wasn't for me" His voice became louder.
She couldn't talk. There was a lump in her throat. Her face became hot, and tears flooded her eyes. She ran out of the apartment in her new pajamas and didn't look back. Once she was outside she looked at the stars. She sat on a bench outside of the apartment and cried. She's never cried like this. Only when her mom died. Tears just wouldn't stop flooding her eyes. The door opened and surprisingly, it wasn't Mr. Grey. It was the janitor who was picking up the last bits of trash that were flowing in the wind.
He looked over towards me.
"What's Wrong?" He asked in such a kind voice
Kathrine wiped her eyes.
"Just.. Something someone said to me"
He sat down next to her. He looked like he was in his late 40's he had a big belly and white hair that was trimmed down to almost no hair.
"Don't worry. Life will get better"
He spoke softly, like a dad would to her daughter. They spoke about about their problems and she told him her entire story about how she ended up having no family. He sat there with her and worked over time just to comfort her. We talked for a good 45 minutes until Mr. Grey opened the doors. His face was red like he cried. She wondered if he cared for her.
She thanked the janitor and asked for his named.
"I'm Jarold and you are?"
"I'm Kathrine" She felt happy for the first time in a while.
"Goodnight, Kathrine"
"Goodnight, Jarold"
Mr. Grey grabbed her waist. She pulled away quickly.
"Leave me alone" She cried.
She ran to the elevator and closed it immediately before he could say anything. She went up to the penthouse and ran to her room. She locked the door and jumped on her bed screaming into her pillow. Then she heard a knock on her door.
"No" She said firmly.
"Please"
For the first time in a while he sounded like he actually cared for her. But she didn't listen. She just went right to bed leaving him waiting in front of her door for 20 minutes. He gave up and went to bed.
