Ahhh. The first day of school. Lot's of people think it's a great time to reconnect with friends that they lost contact with during the summer, others think that school is a waist of time and would rather be at home eating junk food and sleeping until the fateful day when they finally have a heart attack.
Me? Well I on the other hand, am scarred as fly caught on a spiders web. You see, my family and I just moved here -California- from Canada. My dad somehow got a new job offer and he just couldn't pass up on. So, we packed up our bags and headed for the sunny state of California. Leaving friends, loved ones and pets behind. Life is such a wonderful thing.
I guess the first day of school wouldn't be so bad if I was still in elementary school or middle school because it's easier to make friends and not as demanding. But, nope. High School is where I was headed. Beach View Academy to be exact.
I looked the place up online one night and it wasn't that bad of a place. A big football field, a running track, open spaces and of course it had a wonderful view of the beach. It looked like a newer school, no older than 7 years in my opinion. Looks can be deceiving, it is still a high school after all.
You think I would be used to it by now, being in grade 11 and all, but if I can't complain about school, what else can I complain about? Boys? Pfft, no. I have Netflix and access to high speed internet with an iPad and phone. Boys are not needed, and plus my awkwardness doesn't help at all...

I was currently getting ready for my first day. I was already yelled at by my mother about being late and all that jazz so we can fast forward to after my awkward rolling out of bed falling on my face.
I grabbed a white fuzzy towel from one of the wooden shelves that are by the door to MY OWN BATHROOM. Yeah, that's right I have my own bathroom that's connected to my awesome room. My old house only had the one bathroom up stairs, sometimes it was quite a hassle but, we made it all work. So, I'm quite excited to have my own bathroom.
My room has a zebra print and pink theme to it. 3 of the walls are black, and one of them has stripes just like a zebra. I have a large brown wooden desk with my laptop and other things. It's going to be piled up with paper once the teachers start giving out assignments. Joy. My little domain also has a hard wood floor with a white fluffy rug in the middle, right at the end of my bed. My bed has the same wood as my desk and has zebra print duvet with all the others sheets being pink. The pillows are all white except for the body pillow; which is pink. My favourite part of the room, is the hot pink bean bag chair in front of the TV and next to the large book shelf.
Getting back to my daily routine I jumped into the shower and spent the next 3 minutes trying to get the right temperature. After finally getting the water so I am not either burning my skin off or taking a dip in the Atlantic ocean I only got soap in my eye twice! New record for me. Leaving the warmness of the shower I got out and headed back to my room to get dressed.
After a long 20 minutes, I put together the right outfit. I think. It was a blue tank top that gets lighter and lighter the more you go down and it goes right up to the bottom of the neck, but has bare shoulders. I matched it with light blue sorts that are just above finger tip length and black flip-flops.
I didn't go over board with the makeup, just a bit of eyeliner and mascara. Just enough to bring out my bright blue eyes. I left my red hair down. Letting it fall into natural waves. Now, time for my favourite part of the morning; Breakfast.

I got into the kitchen and my mom was already making breakfast. Eggs, toast, baloney, pancakes, and most importantly...bacon. Hopping onto one of the chairs situated by the kitchen island, my mom placed a plate of all the breakfast goodness.
