After getting the keys from Leilani, we all trudged into our very small doorway.  We managed to get all our suitcases in, I didn't even break a sweat.  That is, until now.

The familiar scent of vanilla swept into my nostrils.  "Home sweet home" I said putting the keys in a little bowl.  Ashton moved our suitcases to the side and plopped down on our couch.  He stretched his legs out making himself at home.

"Are you comfy?" Lana said rolling her eyes.  She lifted his legs up and sat down, then put them on her lap.  I looked back at my suitcases and decided to unpack everything tomorrow.  Knowing Lana, she would take the whole day.

I really wanted to break the news about the festival.  Ryan already told me so it's better to let them know right?

"So the festivals coming up, which one of you entered me in?" I said crossing my arms smirking at them.  Ashton's eyes instantly shot up and Lana looked at me nervously.  "How did you find out?"

"Ryan told me.  I may have peeped on your laptop while you were asleep.  I didn't wanna ruin the surprise I guess so I didn't tell you earlier"  I said.  They both shook their heads laughing.

"I was gonna spill the news when we got here, but I guess you told us instead" she said and I felt a bit guilty but laughed.  I sat down on the couch next to her and bit my nails.  I'm nervous, why am I nervous?

"That's a bad habit Ashley" she said putting my hand down.  I looked at her and she gave me a knowing look.  "Sorry, its just- it's coming up soon and I honestly don't know what to write"
I looked down at my hands resisting to bite my nails again.

"I'm sure you'll think of something" Ashton said.  He had his eyes closed but was still awake.  "We'll help you Ash don't worry".   I honestly think they wouldn't like my style of writing.  They were usually sappy journal entries, or sad stories I wrote on rainy days.

"Actually, I have the rules here" Lana said taking out her phone.  She scrolled down and stopped on a page.  She handed me the phone and I squinted at the brightness.

Okay, so I'm writing this about Los Angeles.  The city of weird people and cafe's at every corner, oh and famous figures.  It was typical and boring, not much to explain.  I sighed and closed my eyes.  "I'm screwed"  I muttered putting my head on my hand.

"I told you, we would help.  Let's start brainstorming yeah?  We have to make this something different and interesting" Lana said looking like she was trying to think.  I had a huge brain fart, what was there to write?

"Everyone's the same, they have the same routine.  Nothing interesting" I said putting up my feet on the coffee table.  I would know, I live that life.  We sat in silence for a few minutes looking at the blank television screen.

"You know, not everyone's the same" I heard Ashton say.  I just chuckled at his remark.  I obviously knew that, it's just hard to find in a city full of the same things.  "Oh yeah, like who?" I asked him.

"Everyone has a different story, even if they look like they do the same thing everyday." He said looking at me sternly.  I scoffed and and kept thinking.

"Why don't you do what you did with the models?  You interviewed them and found out their real story before all that modeling stuff.  You should interview some people in la, find out their real story" he said taking out his phone.

I liked the idea, heck I even loved the idea.  "Ashton you're a fucking genius" I said and he gave me a thumbs up.  But who would I talk to? I can't just go up to random people and say "hey what's your backstory?".  Way creepy.

"Let's start off with some people close to our area. What's something typical we see?" Lana asked me.  I laughed and said "people going to the cafe"

"Okay, let's interview the cafe on the end of our street.  We'll go tomorrow, small talk" she said and I nodded.  I was feeling good about this idea.  What format would I write it in?  How long would this actually take?

"Are you guys willing to help me?" I asked them biting my nails once again.

"Are you kidding? We entered you in, we're definitely helping you" Lana said looking at Ashton then at me.  I smiled at them and gave Lana a small hug.

"Can't wait to start"
