This is probably going to be one of the most lay back days of my school year. But who doesn't like lay back.

At the end of the day, Harry's friend, Brock takes us back to school grounds in the nick of time so Korey and I can catch our bus. The rest of them have cars of their own which makes me a little jealous. They have cars while all I have is a stupid, old permit. Permits don't even let you drive without an adult in the car with you which stinks.

As I'm stepping out of the truck, Harry grabs my arm. Korey almost says something, but I signal for her to keep going. She replies with an, "I'll save you a seat." and saunters off to our ride.

I turn to the person holding onto my arm with a questioning look on my face. He steps out of the front seat of the truck and closes the door so Brock and Sage won't hear what he's telling me. With an apologetic look on his face, he says, "Sorry about Sage and all. I didn't know she was gonna be in such a bad  mood today. Usually she isn't so... you know, mean."

I reply with an, "It's all good. She wasn't that bad to be around. I think I should be going though, or I might miss my bus."

The worried and apologetic look on Harry's face disappears and is placed with a more happy one. "So we still good?" he asks with a cheeky smile.

"Of course. I gotta go now." As I'm walking away I yell, "Bye!!" and I hear a soft goodbye behind me.

I begin to pick up my pace because I hear a last call signal that the teachers play when there is one minute left to get to the bus, or they are leaving you. Now at a quick jog I search for the bus with the number 49 on the window. I finally see it as the second to last bus and burst through the doors right on time because our foreign bus driver closes the door right behind me. Walking down the isle is so awkward because all eyes are staring directly at me. I try to find where Korrina is as quick as I possibly can and sit down next to her. We're in seat eleven today. She snatches my book bag and throws it in the empty seat behind us since no one is aloud to be in seat twelve anymore.

Immediately as we are off school grounds it is crazy. Paper is flying, things are getting thrown out of the windows, people are pulling the emergency windows alarm just to irritate the bus driver to the point of cursing in German. Me on the other hand, am calmly making conversations with the people around me.

"Give me a cookie!" I demand from Sara, one of the skinniest people on the bus.

"Let her have it, she needs it more  with her skinny self!" yells a random person around me.

"I have a high metabolism, so when I eat food my body burns it fast and I don't gain wait from it." Sara whines from her seat while trying to hand me one of her cookies. From the front of the bus we can hear Mr. Raimundo trying to tell us to put the food away and settle down, but we all just ignore him.

As I'm munching on my cookie, my booty vibrates with the signal of a text. It's from my sister/guardian. My mom left and my dad felt like he couldn't live without her so he killed himself, leaving us to fend for ourselves. My sister Lavinia does most of the money making and grown up stuff because she practically is a grown up now. She turned 20 a few months back.

I enter the short, 4 digit pass code to unlock my phone and read her text.

Gonna be home late. going job hunting...got layed off again. i dont know what im doin wrong :(

Well this is a bummer. No job for a couple of weeks for her means less food in the house for us and less freedom for me because she doesn't want to have to bail me out of jail with the little money we have put away. I wouldn't do anything to get put in jail anyway, so I don't know why she has to take away some of my freedom. It's probably just for her mental relief that she won't have to spend money on me when she doesn't have much money to spend.
