I must've been enjoying the movie more than my sister because when I look over to her she is fast asleep. I put my blanket on her so she will be comfortable and then I hear it. Actually I don't hear anything, which means that the rain has stopped. I can go look for my phone without getting drenched. I hope it's not dead. and by dead I mean done, unusable, broken.

It's probably still a little chilly out there so I grab a sweater at the front door and head outside. The phone is in the most obvious place between the bushes. I'm surprised that I didn't feel it there before.

I pray as I press the on button. Crap! Nothing happens. If I'm lucky, it's not turning on because it has been out here for so long and the battery ran out. But if I'm not lucky, I no longer have a phone. That would suck. I wouldn't be able to text people let along call. And we got the house phone disconnected so Lavinia would have one less bill to pay.

I rush the phone up to my room as if it were a dying patient and I were the doctor. I quickly grab my charger from the dresser, plug it into the wall then plug my phone in.

Hallelujah! I see loading sign on the screen and then I hear a loud beep telling me that it is connected. Thank goodness. I thought I would have to go phone-less. I check my alarm clock and it's only two in the morning. I decide to go back downstairs.

Just as I am walking down exiting my room, my phone makes the bell sound it usually does when I get a text.

It's from Korey. BRI IS COMING BACK!!!!!

All I can think is, Oh my gosh! Bri is one of my other best friends. Her parents thought she was boy crazy because they found out she lost her virginity last year. They took her phone and they moved to this far away place from here. I heard she had to be home schooled. I haven't talked to her in like a year! This is going to be awesome. We only have about a few more months of school anyway, so Korey and I can hang out with her a lot in the summer.

I pick up my phone and my fingers glide along the keyboard faster than they ever have before. I text Korey about how excited I am to hear about her experiences in the "outside" world.

I find out that she's going to finish off the school year with us at Bermont High. Bri's parents allowed her to have a phone again, but it's a downgrade from her old one. Well at least it's a phone. Korey gives me the number. I text her one more time about how I'm excited to have her back and end the conversation.

I think about texting Bri right now but decide against it when I hear Lavinia call me from the living room.

I rush back to the couch, taking my half-way charged phone with me. She tells me she is going to bed and I say goodnight. Now what am I going to do? When nothing comes to mind I decide to fall asleep too.

**************************************************

My sister and I don't go to church much anymore. We'll go occasionally if we both wake up early, but that's a rare occasion for me. I am not a morning person.

Walking down the hall, I peak into Lavinia's room. Her bed is made so she is probably out looking for another job. Thank goodness.

I look in the fridge but nothing catches my eye, so I call Korey and asks if she wants to go out and get something to eat. She agrees but makes me promise to go running with her later. With my craving for outside food I promise.

I grab a quick shower and throw on a lion king t-shirt, with some skinny jeans. I don't bother to text Lavinia because she will probably be out all day.

I start walking to the small local cafe a few blocks out of our neighborhood. I arrive first and wait for her to get here inside. I order a vanilla latte for me and a caramel macchiato for her. Hopefully she'll get here before they bring our drinks.

Just as I think that she walks in. Her dirty blonde hair is pulled back into a messy bun, and she's dressed in a sweatshirt and jeans. I wave my hand in the air and she comes to sit with me. We're in a booth in a corner of the shop.

As soon as her butt hits the seat she shoots me a huge smile. I back up, frightened by her gesture. She notices and says, "Not the best approach?"

I laugh and respond, "Not even close." The nice waiter brings our drinks and we thanks her in unison as she smile and walks away. "Why do you need to practice an approach face?" I ask. Korey tilts her head towards the window. I turn to see what she's looking at and I want to start practicing an approach face.

She pulls her hair out of the bun and shakes her hair. I run my fingers through mine to make it look like I tried this morning. I feel ready until Korey looks at me with an unsure face. "What?" I ask her.

"You have your glasses on." I feel my face and realise that there are glasses on my face. Oh no. I only wear glasses when I'm with my best friends. I didn't feel like putting in contacts with me.

I hear the ring of the door opening and pull my glasses off and stuff them in Korey's sweatshirt pocket. My vision goes blurry and I hear my name being called. It's Harry's voice. I turn towards the voice trying not to squint my gray eyes.

He's walking to out booth with a body trailing next to him. From what I can see the other guy is handsome. He has tanned skin and beautiful black fair put up in a quiff. Also, he has a pretty nice build.

I smile at them. Harry introduces the other boy as Zayn and the sit down with us. I say an awkward hello to him and Korey starts the conversation. "So Zayn, are you new here?"

He speaks up and says, "Actually I've been living here for a few months, my mom just didn't enroll me there yet. I'm finishing the school year online."

"Lucky!" She exclaims and a few people stare.

"I have to go to the bathroom." I say and get up from the table.

I slowly walk up to the first person I see and ask them where the bathrooms are. They look concerned and point me towards a hallway. All I can see is colors as I make my way towards the hallway. I bump my side into the edge of a square table and curse out. I can feel everyone's eyes on me even though I can't see them. Holding my side I keep walking. I make my way to three doors. All the signs are the same color and all the words area blur. For a second I feel the signs to see if I can read braille, but I can't.

Giving up on trying to read the signs I do eeny meeny miney moe. As I begin to open the door I chose, someone else bursts out with a tray and spills coffee all over me. I can feel the burn through my t-shirt and I scream.

More people rush out of the door and a stream of I'm so sorry's and are you alright surround me. Someone grabs my arm and I am being gently pulled out of the cafe.

I notice it's Korey pulling me. "Oh my god, E! I am not letting you go glasses-less ever again." She pulls my glasses and places the back on my face. I can see again. The  coffee stopped burning but my shirt is still soaked.

I see Zayn and Harry come out to meet us. Oh great! Well this sure is the greatest first impression I've ever made. I whine. Harry hands me some napkins and I dab my shirt. I look up at him and Zayn and Harry says, 'You wear glasses?"

"Pretty much.'' I answer. "I took them off because I don't wear them much, but I guess I really need them more than I think."

They nod. Korey brings the attention off of me by saying, "Why don't we go somewhere else. I don't think we all got to bond much here." We all nod at her suggestion but then I notice my shirt. She sees and adds, "We could stop at your house first, E." I smile.

"You guys in?" I ask the boys.

Harry nods and Zayn says, "Sure." Then Harry offers to drive since he brought his car.

With a sigh of relief we pile into his car and he drives to my house.
