I was outside in the small driveway of my beloved house. I shot the basketball into the hoop, making it go round the ring before entering the net. "Another three pointer" I said to myself.
I couldn't believe mum was actually going to make us pack everything up and leave Los Angeles, our friends, our school and our old lives, to go to a middle of nowhere crap town to 'start over', like she liked to define it.
The lights of the driveway suddenly turned on, making me get back to reality and realizing how dark it was getting outside. I picked up the ball and walked to the back door of the house we were going to leave behind.
"You can't be serious about this!" you could hear Becca, my twin, scream to mum, "Please don't make us leave like this" she now begged her, "Our lives are here." You could see she was shaking, which meant she'd been crying, not that I could blame her. I would have been crying too if I was her, but I was the tough one between the two of us, I was the one that preferred sports to shopping, that didn't dress to impress everyone at school and wore make up just to look older. That was Becca. The only thing we had in common where our looks, we looked perfectly the same, except for the fact that she was nice and polished and I was rough at the edges. We both had dark wavy hair, but she had the perfect waves while mine where ruined by being put up into a ponytail constantly.
Our eyes where the same shade of greenish gray, some times they were grayer while some times they were greener. We both were quite fit, me for the constant exercise and sporty activities, while Becca was slim for the numerous diets she put herself through.

I went upstairs to my room, where everything was pretty much boxed up, picked up my iPod from the desk and let myself drop on the bed. Put on "Wings" one of my favorite songs by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and even though it wasn't about basketball, it had a couple of lines about it, so that was a bonus.
"I was seven years old, when I got my first pair.
And I stepped outside.
And I was like, Momma, this air bubble right here, it's gonna make me fly.
I hit that court, and when I jumped, I jumped, I swear I got so high
I touched the net, Mom I touched the net, this is the best day of my life.
Air Max's were next,
That air bubble, that mesh
The box, the smell, the stuffin, the trend, in school.
I was so cool.
I knew that I couldn't crease 'em
My friends couldn't aff-"I get startled by someone taking off one of my ear buds.
"So it's true..." Jax said. He was one of my two best friends, and probably one of the people I would miss most from my school. He had short dirty blond hair, incredible light blue eyes and a black piercing at the edge of his bottom lip. He was also a basketball player from the boys team, which meant he also had the body of an athlete. He was considered one of the hottest guys in my school, but I could never consider him more than a brother especially because I've seen him eating and on the toilet and I can assure you both scenes aren't pleasurable at all."I nearly had an heart attack!" I shouted at him, hitting him on his arm in the meantime. "Ouch" he protested in response.
"Anyway, what is true?" I ask, hearing my heart going to a normal speed now.
"That I'm getting rid of you. I know you told me weeks ago, but I kind of didn't believe you until now...and I only believe you because I can see all the boxes, so if this is a joke, I promise I won't talk to you for a very long time!" he smirks at me, but he's my best friend since kindergarten and I can still see the sadness in his eyes.
"Is that your weird way to tell me you'll miss me? Because if it is I just want to tell you I'll probably miss you too...well at least until I'll find someone way cooler to hangout with at my new school." I reply with a smile.
