I get woken up by someone shaking me from the really uncomfortable position I was sleeping in in the car. If you haven't realized it yet, I am a very heavy sleeper. I don't know for how long we had been driving the only thing I know is that I had fallen asleep after hours of traveling and there was still light outside, while now you could barely see outside of the window from how dark it was.

"We're nearly there!" My mum says excitedly, and right on spot I see a sign welcoming us to Springtown, population 3.763. "Great" I thought sarcastically to myself  "Now they can add another three to that number."

We drove for another fifteen minutes, watching the little houses of the town passing by under the dim light of the street lights, until we reached the last house at the end of the road we were on. Mum parked in the driveway of that house, getting quickly out of the car to finally have a good night sleep. We got to the door and mum started to look true her bag for the keys. She pulled them out and opened the door.

The entrance was full of  our boxes, since the movers had arrived the day before and left everything in the hallway.

"Home sweet home." She said with a tired voice. "The rooms are upstairs. I'm going to bed straight away, because I've been driving for too long and I'm exhausted. See you girls in the morning. Goodnight." She added while giving us both a kiss on the forehead.

"Goodnight mum." Becca and I said together.

We stumbled up the stairs while practically yawning ourselves to death, and opened every door we came across until we found our respective rooms. Mum had come to the house before to make sure it had been painted and that the main pieces of furniture had been put in the right place. Becca's room was supposed to be pink so it would be quite easy to find while mine was a neon shade of green. I found the room and as soon as I reached the bed, I let myself fall on to it and drifted to sleep.

I woke up as the sun shined right true the window, hitting me straight in the face. I took my phone and saw it was already 12.30.

So apparently today was going to be a lazy day.

'The calm before the storm' they call it, because tomorrow we were going to start a new year at Springtown High.

Which meant I was going to have to prepare myself. I had to join the girls basketball team and I hadn't even start training yet.

What was wrong with me!

I jumped out of bed and looked a the room I was in, the walls were neon green and on one of them there were two big windows that overlooked the main street, the bed was against the wall, between the windows, the wardrobe was on the left wall, while the desk was on the right one. There were two doors opposite the bed, one was the bathroom door and the other one opened on to the corridor.

I quickly put on a gray pair of sweats and a white tank top. Took my ball from the bag with all the basketball stuff I had brought with me in the car.

Ran down the stairs and got out on the patio? So we had a garden now? In that moment I realized I hadn't even seen the house yet. I was just going to have to look at it later when I would go back in for lunch. I had to admit though that finding out we had a garden had already started my day in a good way.

My hoop was already there waiting for me, someone must have placed it while I was sleeping. I shot a few layups, and some more jumpshots, working on some of my old team's drills. God I hated calling them my old team! They were some of my bestfriends, but I had to keep going and I had to join another team if I wanted to keep up basketball.

I shot a couple more layouts when the backdoor opened startling me.

"Sorry I didn't want to scare you." Becca said "I just wanted to tell you that mum wants help cooking lunch."
