Chapter 9: Stolen Teeth

[Jack]
Yes, I know that I just met her and it was just all so sudden, but I just cant forget the way she laughs, and the way her blue eyes would sparkle when that happened
Pitch's voice and words kept on running in my head

My, my, Jack. Have you fallen in love? he said.
Stupid Pitch, I thought

Anyways, the rest of the guardians, including Scarlett, were just talking by the workshop
Except Tooth, who was no where to be found
"Morning." I said as landed next to them
"Hey, Jack. Have you seen Tooth around?" Scarlett said
I shook my head "Nope. Why?"
"She's been gone the whole day." Bunny said
"I tried looking for her but i couldn't find her," Scarlett said sounding worried
Then Tooth flew in with a worried looke on her face
"Tooth, whats wrong?" North asked her
"Its Pitch." She said "he's causing trouble at the Tooth palace."
"Tooth has a palace?" Scarlett asked
"We need to go there, as in now." Bunny said and Sandy nodded his head in agreement
"Alright then, to the sleigh!" North said pointing his sword in one direction and ran that way
"I hate the sleigh." Bunny mumbled
"If Cotton tail over here gates it then i'm in." Scarlett said
Bunny just glared

-----The garage-----

"Whoa!" she said when she saw the sled in its big, shiny, and red glory. It was attatched to the flying Reighndeers, like in the stories, which were super fast. Scarlett walked over to Prancer and he nuzled her hand.
"Come on you two!" Sandy said thru signs.
"How fast does this thing go?" Scarlett asked
"Faster than Jack can." Bunny answerd with a smirk
Scarlett laughed "Thats a big mouth for someone who's afraid."
"Keep talking like that and you'll start becoming Pitch."
Scarlett glared at him
"You're going to love this." I said
Scarlett sat on the edge of the sled. I sat on the other edge because Bunny hates flying on the sled. And also because its hard to explain rabbit vomit on random people below.
"Everybody ready?" North called from the driver's seat
"No! I hate flying!" Bunny said.
North just laughed.
Scarlett smirked at Bunny "What's wrong Hoppy? Cant handle hights?"
He looked like he wanted to strangle her but North already took off. Bunny looked like he was gonna puke, but Sandy was waving his hands in the air making laughing sounds like a bell, and Scarlett jumped on the edge owlf the sled, as in on the railing
"Hey! Get off there, you might fall off!" Bunny shouted
She turned to face us. She smirked "C'mon have a little fun some- AHH!" She tripped and fell off the ledge
Bunny and I looked at each other, and ran to the ledge
We saw her just over there lying down on the bottom part on the sled, relaxing with her arms folded behind her head, smiling at us "Aw... You do care."
I smirked and helped her up
"We're here!" Tooth announced, then her smile faded "Oh, no." I saw what she was frowning about
Pitch's nightmares were kidnapping Tooth's fairies and taking the teeth.
"Oh, no. He's taking the fairies and the teeth." Scarlett said
She gripped her staff and jumped to the ledge "I'm going in there. Maybe I can stop at least some of the nightmares." Without waiting for an answer she jumped off the sled and flew off towards the Palace, blasting nightmares and freeing faries
"Jack, go follow her. That girl's temper, gonna get her in trouble one day." North grumbled
I grabbed my staff and flew after her

[Scarlett]

Okay, flying in blindly in a battle, not my best choice. But hey, i didnt eat breakfast this morning so, dont blame me with my stupid decisions
I blastted nightmares as I flew, freeing faries. Unfortunately, more and more nightmares came to capture the fairies
Then I saw a nightmare flying away from the others it had a small fairy in it. I flew after it and blasted it with a fireball. It dissolved into dark mist and freed the fairy. It was smaller than the others.
"Hey there, little farie. Then I put her in my jacket pocket "Stay here,"
Then I flew in the castle, there were even more nightmares thab outside. I saw Jack inside fighting nightmares, blasting them with ice.
"Jack!" I called. Despite the hundreds of nightmares he was fighting, he smiled
After what seemed like a million nightmares, the guardians appeared and started fighting
"What took you so long?" Jack asked them
"It hard to find a parking in a nightmare invasion." Sandy said thru signs

After all the nightmares took the fairies and the teeth, they all vanished into black mist. Taking the teeth and the fairies
Tooth fell to her knees and hurried her face in her hands "My poor fairies. My poor, poor fairies."
Sandy put his hands on her shoulders, in a comforting way
Then I felt something move around in my jacket pocket
Out came the fairy I saved from that nightmare
Jack gasped "Baby tooth."
Tooth looked relived when Baby tooth flew to her "Thank you, Scarlett."
"Yeah, well. I woshed i could've done more."
Jack nudged me "Hey, not so glum. This isnt your fault."
Then cold laughter filled the room
Pitch materialized on one of the hanging parts of the castle cave
"Pitch!" Tooth shouted in rage "return my faries, or i'll-"
"You'll what?'' He said "you wont give me a quarter under my pillow? Honestly."
Than I heard a voice behind me "Hold on, is that Scarlett?"
I turned and pointed my staff at Pitch "How do you know my name?"
He laughed "I know more that you think, Scarlett. But i didnt know you were a good girl, all goody-good."
"Im not." I spat. He just gave me an amused look "A neutral party then. Ok, im just gonna ignore you then. But you may prove usefull."
"Pitch, give me back my faries!" Tooth said then she grabbed one of North's swords and charged at Pitch. But a nightmare appeared infront of her, causing her to back away
"Look familiar, guardians?" Pitch taunted "It took me a while, but i finally mastered the little trick of yours, Sandman."
"That's what you said the last time." Jack said
"Yes. But this time, i've mastered the art of not only nightmares, but dark magic." In his hand, a black tornado swirled in his hand
"Look familiar, Scarlett?" He taunted
I made my own tornado in my hand "How could you do that?"
"I know more about you than you think. Even more than you know about yourself." Pitch taunted
"But dark magic like that is impossible." I argued
"This is priceless!" Pitch said "well, your brother didnt think it was impossible. Even he helped me perfect this little trick."
I felt like ive been punched "My brother..."
"No memories, no idea, and no family." Pitch said "what fun!"
Then, around us, the Tooth palace started turning to dust
"The children," North said
"Whats happening?" I asked
"Didnt they tell you, Scarlett?" Pitch asked "being a guardian is great! But when children stop believing, you slowly fade away."
Then Jack screamed in rage and flew towards Pitch trying to shoot him with ice but Pitch got on a nightmare horse and rode away
We tried to follow him but we ended up outside
I sat on the floor, trying to think of everything Pitch had said
Dark magic, brother, no memories,
But the words that hit me the most were no family and brother
"Hey," Jack said sitting next to me "you okay?"
"No." I admitted
"Dont let what Pitch said bother you."
"How can't i?" I said angrily "i have no idea what Pitch is even saying! A brother, a family, nothing."
"Hey," Jack told me "don't worry. This was like my first day too."
I frowned at him "How so?"
"I know how you feel. Confused, angry, and probably more furious than Tooth."
I let out a small laugh "I guess you do know."
Jack smirked "Of course i do. I'm a genius."
I pushed him playfully "Shut up, Frost."
Jack smiled
Then, Bunny called "Hey you two lovebirds! Come over here!"
Jack and i both blushed and walked over to the other guardians who were talking among themselves beside the lake
"What's up?" Jack asked
"Pitch took all of the faries and stole all of the teeth. And the kids are starting to stop believing in me." Tooth said "Now were just figuring out how to fix all of this."
"This wont be easy." Bunny said
"Thank you, Captain Sunshine." Jack mumbled
"You guys are the guardians." I said "Cant you guys do something? I mean, this isnt the first time Pitch attacked."
North perked up "Your right! We'll just do what we did the last time Pitch attacked!"
Bunny frowned "Which is?"
"We deliver the teeth!" North said, pointing his swords very close to Bunny and Sandy's face
"What?!" Tooth asked "The last time we did that-"
"It was a peice of cake." North finished for her
"We were lucky that time." Tooth said
"It's worth a shot." Jack said, shrugging
Then, North turned to me "And Scarlett, if we get Pitch, we get your memories back."
I looked at Jack and Sandy, who both were smiling and nodding
I thought about it for a second.
Then, i smiled "I'm in."
Jack trimmed "This is going to be fun."
Bunny scolded "I hate it when he say's that. It always ends badly for me."
I smirked "I think I'm going to enjoy this."
Jack and I both smirked, but Bunny scowled
"I hate this." Bunny said
"Aw, dont be a spoiled sport, Hoppy." I said "Lets do this."
