Chapter 10: The Flight-

Arriving at the airport I had a huge pit in my stomach. I didn't want to let go of my best friend. But it was one of the sacrifices that I had to make to follow my dreams. The thing is I knew she understood why I wanted to leave so badly.

She came to a halt at the front door of the airport. She glanced over at me, tears dripping down her beautiful face. I was so going to miss her. Lizzy gave me a HUGE hug. I stared sobbing silently on her shoulder leaving small tear drops on her sweatshirt. I opened my door slowly, treasuring the last few minutes with her.

Lizzy grabbed my suitcase out of the trunk and sat it down on the sidewalk. I looked at her. I grabbed her hand and gave it a slight squeeze, hopping to make her feel a little better.

"I'll call you everyday, I promise." I assured her.

"You better, cause I might have to fly out their and beat you with a bat!" She said this in a hilarious joking way. She giggled.

"Liz, I don't know what I would have done without you. You've saved me numerous times, and you where the inky person ever there for me. I can never repay you. I love you so much Liz." I let out a sniffle.

"Oh my God! Quit making me cry!" She lunched me playfully in the shoulder. "Now get outta my face you little punk!" Se laughed so hard she was bending over laughing. I joined alone, not caring if people were looking, which they were.

But we never cared what people thought of us together.

I gave her one last meaning hug, and walked through the sliding doors. She waved until I couldn't see her arm anymore.

The airport was super overwhelming. There were people everywhere. Rushing to find their gates, dragging suitcases behind them. I tried to keep mine close by so no one would trip. I even had to watch out for all the speedy quick businessmen dashing out in front of me.

I kept my head up for my gate. I FINALLY found it, with a little time to spare. So I bought a water at the nearest store. I also bought a new edition of seventeen. Hey, just because I'm eighteen doesn't mean I can't read it anymore!

When the lady at the front desk called for everyone to board. I got the most fluttery feeling in the middle of my stomach. I was so excited! Never in my life have I been. I quickly got my things together and hopped in line, trying to not get trampled by everybody else. I handed the uptight woman my ticket and skipped to my seat. (Not literally).

I plopped down in my seat and got out my iPod. I plugged in instantly. The happiest feeling were rushing throughout me. I prepared for a LONG flight.

After we took off and were in the air, I sorta fell asleep. It was nice though because I was exhausted. Soon enough though I was woken up by the woman sitting next to me. She poked me in the arm p, she was trying to tell me something, but I realized I still had my headphones in. I pulled them out, giving her a questioning look.

"They're severing lunch now. The flight attendant would like to know what you would like?" I apologized for now listening and gave the flight attendant my order. I received it around five minutes later.

The bread was dry and the turkey was slimy, but that's all that was available.

After countless hours of sitting on that plane. It was finally time for us to land. I looked out the window, watching as the ground slowly approached. A smile on my face the entire time. I felt the wheels come out from the belly of the plane and hit the the runway. I was bursting inside with excitement. I think the woman next to me noticed. I looked over and gave a giant smile, which probably made me look like an absolute fool. But she laughed at me.

"I'm guessing this is your first time?"

"Yes! I'm moving here from New Orleans. I've never been so happy!" She laughed I reply. "We'll I think you will absolutely love it." That made me really happy.

"Alright everybody, welcome to London. It's rainy and cold outside so bundle up!" The captain said this so cheerfully, it made me ever more happy! How can that even be possible?!
