Little did Professor Park expected that less than two minutes after this conversation with the devil, the restaurant door opened again and a figure walked through the door.
The waitress gave the customary response, "Welcome, sir. This way please."
There was another weirdo who'd come to eat at three in the afternoon?
Jimin inadvertently glanced over and immediately raised a hand to shield his face.
Oh shit...
Sucking the insides of her cheeks, Rosie shifted the candy to another position. Her raven dark eyes blinked at Jimin twice. She whispered, "What are you doing?"
Jimin's whisper was quieter than hers, "My face hurts."
Rosie Dale's eyes crinkled and she laughed merrily.
Jimin, "..." You're such a little angel.
Little Angel Rosie's merry laughter successfully attracted a certain someone's attention.
As Jimin looked towards the floor-to-ceiling windows in silence with half his face covered, Jungkook's voice rang out from beside him. "Did you think I wouldn't be able to see you if you covered your face?"
You never know, what if it worked?
Jimin's face flitted through several expressions. Finally, he coughed lightly and put down his hand.
Rosie moved inwards on her own without being asked to, freeing up more than half the sofa. This little girl was afraid of strangers, but after that piece of chocolate from back then and spending the past few days in close proximity, she had warmed her up significantly to the two of them, and even somewhat regarded them as friends.
"Thank you." Lawyer Jeon was very polite to the girl.
He sat on the sofa and lifted his eyes to look at Jimin. His tone was particularly barbed. "'Sitting tight in the hotel waiting for the files to be sent over?'. Do you intend to sleep here tonight?"
Jimin, "..."
Poisoned words right as he came; indeed a good student with only the deepest, utmost respect for his teacher.
Professor Park shamelessly said, "At least half of it is the truth."
Jungkook frowned, "?"
"Sitting tight," Jimin, "everything up to this point is true, merely that the location is nonsense."
"..." Jungkook scoffed coldly in response.
Jimin simply arched his eyebrows without a word. After all, he had just been caught in a lie~ and was a little in the wrong.
His finger twitched involuntarily, brushing against a candy that he still held in his palm. It was the candy that Rosie had given him earlier; he hadn't had the time to eat it yet.
Right away, the esteemed Professor Park, who had a particular knack for coaxing people, was struck by inspiration. He pressed that candy wrapped in blue into Lawyer Jeon's hand. To make it seem natural, he reached out and took another candy for himself. He said, "Have a candy first. Sweeten up before you speak."
Jungkook, "..."
"Come on, don't keep giving me such a frosty look," Jimin said, "I only came here to find important evidence and have some food as I go, I'm so famished that I'm getting dizzy."
Saying this, he peeled the wrapping off the candy he had in his hand, nonchalantly asking Rosie, "Is the candy tasty?"
Rosie nodded, then stuck her tongue out at him.
