Timeless Love (on hold)

Chapter One

Welcome everybody to my new story. Thank you for taking the time out to read my feeble attempt at writing.

If, however, you did enjoy this story please comment or vote, it would be much appreciated! Also, at least read up until Chapter Three because I think Chapter Three is where it starts getting good!

Chapter One

I unlocked the door to my new apartment with butterflies in my stomach.  By opening this door, it was opening the door to a new life. You see, I had just graduated from University and as a graduation present my parents had bought me a two bedroom apartment. My Dad has said that I would be needing the second bedroom for a make-shift classroom. Oh yes, I should explain that I am an English teacher at a local language school, so the second bedroom was to be for me to create lesson plans and act as a study. It really was a surprise to me and I was so happy to receive this present. So you can understand that by opening this door, it really was opening a door to my new life.

I slowly turned the door handle and stepped inside. I had yet to see the apartment as it was a surprise from my parents so I was quite anxious. I quickly took off my shoes then walked down the short hallway into the lounge. I gasped in awe at how large the apartment was. There was the lounge, then off to the left and right were the bedrooms. The kitchen was also off to the right, and the bathroom was off the hallway. I moved to the kitchen and was amazed at how big and modern it was. There was a marble counter in the middle of the room which was obviously meant for preparation and underneath it there was an oven built in. Opposite that there was the sink with a dishwasher to the right of it and up above there were cupboards full of pots and pans. To the right of that bench there was a microwave which was just above the fridge. I opened the fridge, smiling to find that my parents had obviously stocked it up for me yesterday.  Next to that was the pantry and I pulled open the doors to also find that stocked up. My parents really had gone all out for me and I felt tears prickling my eyes thinking of their thoughtfulness.

I closed the pantry then walked back into the lounge and walked out onto the balcony which was big enough to hold a dining table and chairs. I moved to the side of the balcony and smiled at the view that I was, considering I was on the 15th floor, the view really was great. I lived in Auckland City, which is the biggest city in New Zealand. Spread before me were views of the harbour bridge and glistening harbour. I took a deep breath, enjoying the crisp, clean air that flooded my nostrils. This balcony was going to be a great place to enjoy a lazy Sunday.

 I turned around and walked back into the room which I took for my bedroom. There was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room which had overhead lamps attached to the headboard on either side. To the left of the bed was a bedside cabinet and on the right side there was a set of drawers. A top of the drawers was a circular mirror. I gazed at my reflection. I had long, light brown hair with bluey-grey eyes. I really did love the colour of my eyes and everybody commented on them. I turned away from the mirror, feeling a little embarassed.

 I started to unpack my clothes, amazed that my parents were able to afford such a huge, luxurious apartment. I really was happy though because now I wouldn’t have to worry about rent and was finally able to live by myself.

I was halfway through unpacking my clothes when I heard the sound of a key being turned in the lock. I walked back out into the lounge and stared at the door as one of the most handsome guys I had ever seen walked through the door. The guy had medium length black hair and piercing blue eyes. His body was slim but I could see the muscle underneath his black t-shirt which he wore with black skinny jeans. I snapped out of my dream-like state,

“Who are you?” We both asked at the same time.

This chapter is extremely short and I promise you that from now the chapters will be a lot longer. I am not very satisfied with this chapter but I assure you the writing will improve, just please bear with me! Anyway I hope you enjoyed the first chapter and please continue reading!
