I closed my laptop.

Wow. That's enough for one night. No, that was too much for one night.

I curl up in my blanket, hoping to find comfort. Beads of sweat runs down my back and my hands start to shake.

I'm actually scared, for once.

Now I know why Harry said that. To be truthful, I can't condone what Master Cross did.

No. Thomas Cross.

Thomas Cross is the bad guy here. Not Harry.

I did think of him as a father figure, but now that I think of it, he was only spoiling me with his money ever since I was a child. Money shouldn't buy trust, but I sure fell for it.

I clench my fists and bite my tongue. There's no way in hell I'm going to be able to sleep tonight, not after what I just saw.

There was one place I have in mind. I'm not sure if it's the best idea but I'm going there no matter what.

I change into a denim dress and black combat boots. I threw on Harry's jacket, locked my door and turned on the engine.

It's a quick drive, about 10 minutes. I know I can always go to Aiden's house but he will have to look at the files himself in order to understand what I'm going through. I'm already a mess, this is not the time for me to take care of someone else as well.

I park my car 2 blocks away, just in case. Great, security time.

I walk up to the guards at the entrance. I'm almost 100% positive they recognize me from this morning and they are clearly armed, and I'm not.

They glared at me and start to pull out their pistol. I quickly raised both my hands.

"Relax, I'm not holding a gun," I said. They put their weapons down but their glare remain. "Uh, can I see Harry Styles?"

They looked at each other for a while before one of them spoke in the intercom. "Sir, uh-"

"Audrey Temple," I quickly said.

He nods. "Miss Audrey Temple would like to see you."

A few seconds passed and the guard's attention returned to me. "You can wait inside," he said, opening the door for me.

"Thanks," I whisper as I step inside and start to warm my hands.

I start to look around his mansion for this first time. There light blue walls, white curtains and sunflower plants. It's actually really nice, well... minus the damage we created this morning.

"Audrey," I heard his voice behind me.

"Hey."

He smirks. "It's 2 in the morning. What might be the reason for you being here?"

"I-I looked at the files."

"Oh." He sigh. "So, what now?"

I shrug. "I really didn't-" I was cut off by him wiping my tears away. Damn me for being such an easy crier.

I softly slap his hand away. "I don't want to work with him anymore," I confess. "But if I just leave like that, I'm afraid he'll hurt my brother, or just anyone."

He nods. "Let's sit down first."

I follow him upstairs and into a room. Everything in this room was dark- gray wallpaper, black curtains, and furniture with dark brown wood.

We walk towards the couch as I look around. There were pictures hanging on the wall. One had a middle aged man grinning at the camera, his arm was wrapped around a woman's waist. The woman was resting her chin on his shoulder. A teenage girl with long brown hair holding up the V-sign and smiling at the camera. And lastly, there was a young boy with small brown curls smiling the widest at the camera. He was wearing a blue flannel with a green graphic tee inside.

I do not need to look at it twice to know that it's the Styles' family portrait.

Harry laughs behind me. "I know what you're thinking, wow that kid is hot!"

I chuckle. "Well, the kid is cute."

He arch an eyebrow at me and smirks. "So you're saying I'm cute?"

"What? No way!" I quickly look away, feeling blood rising to my cheeks.

He leans closer. "I can tell you're blushing," he whispers in my ear.

I look down. "I'm not."

He brings a hand to my cheek, making me look at him. I lean into his touch.

Ugh Audrey, what are you doing? My brain clearly doesn't agree with me.

"Look," I step back. "I don't entirely trust you yet, and I don't really believe it 100%. It just seem so unreal to me. So don't think I'm on your side or anything."

He nods a look away. Was that pain in his eyes just then?

"I understand," he said. "I have trust issues myself, so don't think I'm going to help you or anything, love."

"Don't worry, I wasn't going to ask for your help anyways," I scoff and walk towards the door.

Suddenly a pair of arms wrap me from behind.

I stop walking. "Harry," I breathe. "What are you doing?"

His arms are still tangled around my waist as he breathe down my neck. His touch was warm and... comforting.

"There must be a reason why you came here so late," his voice send me chills.

"I-I just came to tell you that I saw it."

"You were crying," he wrap his arms tighter around me. "I don't like when people cry in front of me."

"Am I suppose to apologize for crying?" I sarcastically said.

He chuckles. "You don't have to, but you can." He loosen his touch and spin me around so I'm facing him.

Gosh, I probably look tomato red right now.

"Let's call it a truce then," he suggest.

I look around and roll my eyes. "Oh c'mon Harry, after all that happened today, you would let me slide away with a truce?"

"Would you rather have me kill you then?" he smirks.

I don't know if that was a joke or not, but I'm in his home and I don't have a weapon. Also with the injuries I got today, it wouldn't be hard for him to pin me down if he wanted to hurt me.

"Probably not," I reply.

He shrugs and extend his hand. "So Audrey, truce?"

I sigh and shake his hand. "Fine, Harry."

He smiles and run his hand through his hair. "Being the gentleman I am," he winks. "I would hate to have you drive home this late. You're welcome to stay here for the night."

"If you have a spare room for me." I automatically regretted saying that. Of course there's a spare room! He lives in a mansion you idiot!

"It's fine, you can stay in this room," he replies, pouring himself a glass of wine.
