ANNABETH
She walked out of Cabin 6, Kayne following shortly behind her.
Sighting Lilliana Jones, one of the bullies, Annabeth readied herself. Her face was probably still wet with tears, but she certainly felt pretty strong.
"Lilliana?" she called out, and the daughter of Ares turned to see her.
"What is it, Chase?" she asked. She had long blonde hair that was always pinned up into a bun using strange bone pins given to her by her father. It looked ridiculous, but most people were too scared of her to point that out.
"I heard you were bullying my friend, Kayne here." she said, stopping in a defensive position.
"F-friend?" Kayne stuttered. "I've never had one of those before."
"You do now." Annabeth told him, then turned back to Lilliana. "I'm going to politely ask you to stop."
Lilliana scoffed and said "And I'm going to politely decline."
A smile crept onto Annabeth's face. "Alright, Jones. But you'll regret that."
"Is that a challenge?" the daughter of Ares asked with a scowl.
"Is that a challenge?" Kayne echoed, terrified.
"It's a challenge if you see it as one." Annabeth replied to the two of them.
"Okay, then. Challenge accepted." Lilliana said, pulling her twin-blades out of her scabbards that she always kept on her.
Annabeth grabbed a sword that she got as a gift at Leo's funeral. Hephaestus cabin gave one to each of his friends. It was sad to look at, bringing back memories of him. But she didn't have the time to mourn.
Just before she went up closer to slash Lilliana's face, Kayne yelled "WAIT!"
They both got a bit shocked and looked at him.
"I... Um... I never told anyone about this, and for a good reason, too... Annabeth, this is technically my fight. So I should be the one to fight it. Stand back, please." he said. Surprised, Annabeth got away from Lilliana.
Kayne muttered something under his breath, an incantation of sorts, then made strange hand actions and the muttering got louder. Confused, Lilliana stayed still.
Suddenly an olive branch escaped the soil. More and more shot out, until a whole tree was choking a screaming, struggling, pleading Lilliana Jones.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm so so so sorry!" she cried.
"Kayne! Let her out!" Annabeth yelled, running up and knocking him out of his trance.
"I-I can not..." he said, stressed.
"Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit." Annabeth muttered under her breath. She's gonna die! she thought. She's gonna choke to death in an olive tree!
Someone came up to them. Considering the fact that a fight was happening, they had built up a crowd. But someone was coming out of that crowd. Her eyes went entirely black when she got close to the big olive-tree. She touched it, and it wilted away.
Annabeth recognised her features; she had long, curly, red hair, light blue braces and cute acne. She was mid-height and mid-weight with green eyes. Her name was Katie, and she was from Hades cabin. She's quite socially-awkward and spends most of her time reading, but Annabeth always peaked at her books. She had a good taste; she was re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 3rd time. One of Annabeth's favourites.
When the olive-tree wilted away, Lilliana stumbled out and heaved out each breath. "Th-thank you!" she stuttered.
"That's okay!" Katie replied, smiling awkwardly, before walking back into the crowd to read.
"Wait!" Annabeth called, and went to grab her shoulder. As soon as she touched her, though, a burning sensation went up her arm and through her whole body.
"GAH!" Annabeth exclaimed, pulling away suddenly as Katie turned to see her.
"Oh my gods, sorry!" the daughter of Hades exclaimed.
"H-how do you do that?" Annabeth stammered, still in utter pain. She'd learnt to ignore it.
"It was amazing!" Kayne said from behind her. She didn't know that he'd followed.
"Um... It's just Underworld magic." Katie replied, her eyes turning back to green. "You can touch me without it hurting now. I'm really sorry about your hand... Could I look at it?"
Annabeth lifted her arm up to show her, and got shocked to see that the finger that touched Katie had turned completely black. "Oh my dear gods..." she muttered.
"Shit. Um..." Katie looked quite worried. "You should go see someone in the infirmary. Like, right now."
Annabeth nodded and grabbed Kayne, leading him to the infirmary.
"I thought you would like my powers..." he said on the way, when they were alone.
"I did. I think they're amazing. Just... You should use those powers for good, not evil. You could have killed her! Kayne, I love your powers. You just need to control them." she told him.
"Yeah, it is just... Sorry." he replied, not long before they arrived at the Infirmary.
When they did, she could immediately tell that the two doctors, Will and some guy called Angus (also a son of Apollo) were otherwise occupied.
Angus had the same classic genetic features from Apollo; messy blonde hair, tan skin, shining white teeth and an attractive facial-structure. But he had a kind heart from his mother. He cared about everyone around him, he was kind, funny, interesting and optimistic. But looks wasn't all he got from Dad; he's also was really sporty. He loves basketball and footy, and won't shut up about those two things.
It was obvious to tell that they were occupied because Annabeth saw Nico and Will hugging, and Caity (Angus's boyfriend) laughing her head off on a bed next to- surprise surprise- Angus.
Caity was a daughter of Aphrodite. She wasn't as into love as some of her half-siblings, like Drew or Lacey, but she was still a romantic. Her dirty-blonde hair was long, curly and always in a pony-tail. For all Annabeth knew, she slept with that thing tied up. She had deep-brown eyes, which she didn't get from her mother, but her father had them. She, like Angus, loved Basketball. That was how they met; though a match.
Annabeth knew that if she even attempted to approach either of the doctors, she wouldn't be pleased with the result. So she decided to go back to Katie.
