Maedbh’s Pov

I was back at Cambridge. We’d had a quiet birthday for Caellum, only a couple of his friends. I’d given him the autograph and he’d been ecstatic until I’d signed onto twitter to see I’d been tweeted individually by each boy, telling me to wish my brother a happy birthday. My mentions had blown up at this, fans wanting to know who I was and why they were wishing my brother happy birthday. Little did they know that I’d really only met half the boys. Once fans realized I actually knew Harry though, the mentions changed from asking who I was to either people spamming me for a follow or people sending me hate, telling me I didn’t deserve to know the boys. I just rolled my eyes and ignored that though. It was just prepubescent girls who thought that hating on someone could improve their chances of meeting the boys and getting married. It was ridiculous.

“So I heard through the grapevine that someone has been keeping a certain famous relationship a secret,” my flatmate says, plopping down onto my bed as I unpack my things. I let out a laugh, raising an eyebrow as I look back at her.

“Yea? How did you hear about that?” I ask.

“It’s all over the internet. How the famous Harry Styles has been seen with his ex girlfriend. Quite a surprise when I actually recognized her. I mean… I knew you’re from that area, but it never really clicked that you might actually know him.”

“I don’t really,” I say, shaking my head. “It’s the first time I’ve talked to him in years”

“But still…” she says, leaning forward. “What’s he like? Is he as gorgeous as he seems?”

“More” I finally respond with a smile, turning to face her.

“You’ve got to set me up” she jokes. “I need me a piece of One Direction” I let out a laugh.

“I think Niall’s the only single one,” I say raising an eyebrow. “Well, besides Harry”

“No, Harry’s yours, but I won’t mind a piece of Irish” she says with a wink.

“Harry’s not mine,” I protest. She rolls her eyes.

“Even if I believed that was true, there’s still the girl code. I couldn’t date one of your ex’s”

“I’m dating Luke,” I remind her. This causes her to roll her eyes.

“Oh please…” she says. “I was hoping you’d break up with that douche over summer”

“He’s not—“

“He’s a loser Mae, why can’t you just see that? You can do so much better”

I give a small shake of my head, not believing it. Luke was stable, despite being a jerk sometimes, we’d been dating for almost 2 years now. I could count on him. My phone buzzes and before I have time to grab it, Katie has swept it up.

“Harry wants to know when the house warming party is,” she teases before beginning to punch the keys.

“Wait? What are you saying?” I ask trying to grab back my phone. “No, don’t answer” I plead as she holds my phone out of reach. She smiles triumphantly as she hits send and I manage to grab it back.

“I said tonight, 9’oclock,” she says with a grin.

“But we’re not having a party” I tell her with a frown as my phone buzzes again.

I’ll see you then

She looks down at the text before grinning up at me. “We are now”
