Heather sat in Geography, not even paying attention to what was going on. All she could see was Alejandro's smug face glaring at her from all sides. Who knew that having assigned seating in this class would ever come in handy? She looked up at the board, showing no interest in what Alejandro was doing.

"Since Geography is a fun and exciting class, I teamed up with Principal Mclean to come up with a cool new contest!" Mrs. Byrnes said happily. "The contest is simple, split into three groups, each with our Geography students, and we will compete in various tasks for each place we stop on our 'World Tour'!" A chorus of groans erupted from the class. "Did I mention this counts for fifty percent of your grade?" The class soon draped Mrs. Byrnes in compliments. Heather sat up, suddenly interested in what was going on in the class. If this were a competition, she could finally prove to Alejandro, and everyone, that she really was in it to win it. Heather quickly kneeled next to Lindsay's desk.

"Linds, this is our chance to show people what we can do, we have to get on the same team!" Heather plotted, looking now and then behind her to make sure Alejandro wasn't listening in.

"Oh Heath, it's just a silly little contest, it doesn't mean anything," Lindsay said, a bit unfocused, due to Tyler blowing her kisses and winking in her direction.

"Lindsay, I need you to focus, this isn't just a contest; it's a chance to show everyone that we are here to play!"

"Ok Heather, we will take this silly grade competition seriously," Lindsay said, sounding a bit defeated. Heather let a small smug smile creep up her face. Soon after the contest was announced, the dates were in. It started tomorrow. The teams would be "randomly generated", which probably meant the teachers would put completely unrelated people together so they could learn cooperation. Every class period was spent in complete strategy mode. 50% of a grade was a lot, and if there was one thing Heather was good at, it was winning. Everything was peachy keen until Spanish class rolled around.

"Heather, will you come up here please?" Mrs. Silk said, not looking up from her paper grading. Heather walked up, a bit shamefully, she was so busy coming up with a winning plan, she had completely forgotten about how she now had to take the Spanish test.

"Hola Senorita Silk," o

Heather waved, trying to act as coy as possible.

"Heather, are you prepared for your test?"

"Mrs. Silk, I can't work with Alejandro, he isn't even teaching me anything!" Heather whined quietly, hoping he wouldn't see her small fit.

"Heather, your grade is slipping, and you need help; Alejandro speaks fluent Spanish and can help you if you let him," Mrs. Silk replied, still not moving her eyes from a pile of tests.

"Mrs. Silk, really, he totally botched yesterday's study session, and keeps trying to push my buttons!"

"Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you two like each other?" Mrs. Silk asked, slightly looking up at Heather, seeing the disgusted look on her face.

"I hate him, he is annoying, completely obnoxious, and impossible to work with, you are better off getting Lindsay to tutor me!" Heather said aggressively, a bit louder.

"I understand Heather, but that really is no excuse to not get this test done, you two will stay after school today under my super vision for a tutoring session," Mrs. Silk insisted, in a tone that made Heather only assume that there was absolutely no talking her out of it. Heather stomped back to her seat, obviously angry so that anyone could tell. Only a couple minutes later, the bell rung, releasing her from that foreign prison.

"I hear we will be spending more time together sweet Heather," Alejandro purred in her ear as she walked out of class, brushing his hand over her shoulder.

"Creep," Heather managed to say without getting choked up in her words. Beth ran to her side, along with Lindsay, and dragged her away from the conversation. The pulled her arms, and hastily ran to the bathroom.

"Um, it's super-secret super club time, so secret club members only," Lindsay said authoritatively to the group of freshman huddled around in a corner. Lindsay brought Heather to the sink, splashing water on her face.

"What the heck Lindsay, I'm not passed out," Heather yelled aggressively, wiping the water specks dazzling on her face.

"Sorry Heath, but you looked like a vampire out there, and so not the Twilight kind," Lindsay sputtered, playing with a loose strand in her hair.

"Alejandro makes you go weak kneed Heather, you have to focus!" Beth pepped, trying to keep her eye on the prize.

"What are you talking about, I never go weak kneed!" Heather snapped back, a tad insulted.

"You used to, but Alejandro is the one thing that can make it happen," Beth stated.

"You need to get your head in the game, have the eye of the tiger, and don't stop believing!" Lindsay said in a chipper ditzy voice. Beth and Heather stared at her, both very confused. "What, were we not listing song titles?"

"Heather, you either are growing soft, or just having a soft spot for Alejandro," Beth stated, a bit questioningly. It made Heather question herself. Was she becoming a softie? Was she losing her edge? Or was Mrs. Silk right, and maybe she did like Alejandro?

Author's Note

Hey guys sorry for being a tad inactive over the last week or so. I've had the worst case of writers block. Anyway, world tour in coming to Wawanakwa High, so what will happen? And i think that this might be the only story I write for a while. It seems to be more popular, and I really can't keep up. Sorry for the short chapter, hope you still enjoyed! Until next time

xoxo
