" Alright girls, good warm ups," head cheerleader Blaineley announced clapping her hands," go get some water, except for you Bridgette, you come here." A tall sun-tanned blonde headed over to Blainley. She had hazel eyes, and wore the cheerleading uniform at the moment, but usually wore her favorite blue hoodie and blue jean caprices. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail, with the big game tomorrow, the cheerleaders had to be spectacular. Blaineley was a year older than Bridgette, and after Heather, she was pretty popular. Her rankings of course were mostly because of her boyfriend, Justin, school hottie, who was in Bridgette's grade. Blainley had bleach blonde hair, that slimly swerved over her pale shoulders. She usually wore a sexy red sundress, but like Bridgette, she wore her cheer uniform.
" Yeah Blaineley?" Bridgette asked in her upbeat voice. Blaineley looked down at her.
" You need to work on your stance, also, if you don't make your act water tight, I'll have to cut you from tomorrow's cheer."
" I will Blaineley, promise!" Blaineley mumbled something under her breath, but left the field for the water break. Bridgette sat on the bench. She was the only one Blaineley ever called out. Lindsay collapsed the pyramid, and got a standing ovation. Bridgette was about to head in until she saw the football players exit the school onto the field. The captain was Tyler, the dumb jock, but was good at what he did. Lead quarterback was Bridgette's crush, Geoff. He had shaggy blonde hair that toppled over his tan neck. He had sexy blue eyes, filled with confidence. He wore a thick football uniform, but usually wore a pink button up shirt, showing off his abs with a pair of shorts. Bridgette was totally crushing on him, but he barely knew she existed.
" Hey Geoff," Bridgette waved. Geoff looked over his shoulder through his equipment.
" Hey Brianna," Geoff replied heading into the field for practice . Bridgette slumped her shoulders. Brianna? He didn't even knew who she was. The cheer squad exited the building after the football players. Blaineley wiped her mouth of the water that dripped off it.
" Bridgette, you must take the bottom of the pyramid with Lindsay, Sadie, and Katie," Blaineley began instructing," Michelle, Carrey, and Savannah, you take the middle ." Blainley continued to scoff directions to every girl on the team. Bridgette just stared at Geoff, running across the field flawlessly.
" Bridgette, who are you staring at?" Lindsay whispered, as she and Bridgette were next to each other at the bottom of the pyramid.
" Was I staring?" Bridgette asked guiltily. No one knew of her crush, except for her best friend, Leshawna, who was a true friend. Bridgette hung out with mostly everyone, but normally just hung with Leshawna and her cheer friends. Sometimes Gwen and Courtney put up with her, but being a cheerleader, and lead swimmer on the spring swimming team, they really didn't have much in common. She was also friends with DJ, who was her childhood friend.
" Were you staring at MY Taylor? " Lindsay said beginning to have a raged tone.
" Tyler, and no, I'm looking at Geoff," Bridgette said dreamily looking at him deeply in a trance.
" Oh, lead quarterback, guy who throws those legendary parties that only a select number of cool people get to go?"
" Yeah, he's just...really good at football"
" Oh, boring... Tyrell is so much better!"
" Tyler, Lindsay," Bridgette mentioned yet again. Lindsay was quite a ditz. She hung out with queen bee Heather and was dating a really dumb jock, I guess it fit. Cheer practice had finally ended, as well as her time at that time at the school for that day. She headed to the locker room to change back into her regular clothes, she promised to meet Leshawna and DJ for frozen yogurt I the plaza in town. She grabbed her bag and headed out, but bumped into Geoff, as the football players entered into the hallway.
" Hey Bridgette, sorry I messed up your name earlier," Geoff said, scratching the back of his neck.
" Oh, it's totally fine, you were really good today," Bridgette replied, pulling her bag strap further up on her shoulder.
" You were good too."
" Thanks..." There was a pause.
" If you want, the squad and the football players are going for pizza, want to catch a ride with me instead of with one of the cheerleaders?" Geoff asked. Bridgette froze. Geoff smiled brightly.
" Uh, yeah, sure," Bridgette stuttered. Geoff smiled and headed into the locker room. Bridgette squealed happily. She pranced to the parking lot. Blaineley peeked past the wall, maybe she could use this to her advantage. Bridgette sat on the curb waiting for Geoff. He came up behind her, wearing his normal sexy outfit. He lifted Bridgette off the curb. She smiled widely. She had already told Leshawna where she was going, and that she'd reschedule some other time. Geoff and her walked to his old rusty red pickup truck. Bridgette had a light blue 2000 Honda Accord, it was the first car she ever had, and was the only one she would ever get until she could afford a better one. Geoff's pickup was very quaint, and the seats were awkwardly close. Bridgette popped her bag in the back with the rest of Geoff's football equipment. Bridgette slipped into the passenger seat of Geoff's car. He started up the engine with a jolt. Bridgette felt his inhale
with the side of her body. Geoff smiled a bit. She was cute, and seemed really nice, was a cheerleader, and knew how to freshen up. Geoff drove silently with the radio pouring pop tunes. Bridgette swayed slightly to the music. The windows were rolled down, and she placed her arm out waving it into the wind. They pulled up to the parlor too soon, Bridgette didn't want it to end. He locked it up and headed inside. It was packed with teens from the high school, like it always was. Music boomed loudly through speakers around the corners of the restaurant. Set by set of booths rang around the windows of the front of the restaurant. A bunch of smaller tables filled in the center, with a clearing seeing into the kitchen where the pizza's were made. The fresh smell of pizza crust and tomato sauce filled Bridgette's nose, but still held the smell of Geoff's manly cologne. Lindsay and Tyler gestured the two to come over. They sat at a booth in the top
left corner of the parlor. They had already ordered a medium pizza, half plain with stuffed crust, half pepperoni with regular crust. Geoff slid into the booth, followed by Bridgette. Bridgette took a slice of the plain and Geoff did the same.
" Hey Geoff, good job today!" Tyler said excitedly. He wore a red track suit and had long brunette hair covered by a red and white sweat band. He had a pair of dark brown eyes that stared into Lindsay's bright blue eyes.
" Thanks man, you too," Geoff replied. Bridgette was on cloud nine. Geoff said her name, rode in a car with her, and was only sitting inches away from her. She wanted to sit under his arm and wrap her arms around his thick torso. She was in love with Geoff, but he probably only drove her out of pity. Bridgette was to happy to think negatively. She dug her white pearl teeth into the slice of plain pizza. Geoff stared at the perky blonde, she was very smart, she was in some of his classes, and always participated. Then, Blaineley walked over swiftly in her sexy red sundress. It barely hit her thighs. Next to her was a VERY handsome boy, her boyfriend Justin. He had deep tan skin and a pair of dark ocean blue eyes, covered by dark brunette hair. He had a flashy smile. He wore a green tee and a pair of slim fitting jeans that led down to a pair of sandals.
" Hey Bridgette, guys, Bridgette, Justin and I were wondering if you wanted to come with us to see the newest romantic comedy with the rest of the cheerleaders and their boyfriends, oh wait you don't have one..." Blaineley said lashing her. Bridgette almost broke down. Not crying of course, but about to go berserk. Lindsay felt really uncomfortable and shifted around in her seat. Blainley walked away laughing, but Justin seemed a bit less amused. Bridgette whispered to Geoff that she wanted to go home. Geoff nodded and headed to the car. They sat silently through the car ride. It was like Bridgette was invisible, to everyone but Blainley, who made her wish she was. Mean girls going to be mean, she thought to herself. The pickup pulled up to the school parking lot, where Bridgette's car was parked. Geoff waved goodbye, Bridgette did the same. She watched him drive away. She was alone. It was still pretty early. It had only been a half and hour
since school had ended. Bridgette shivered in the empty parking lot. The only cars that remained were those of the staff and people with after school activities. At that note, the wind picked up as Bridgette entered her car to head home. She silently headed for her apartment where her family lived.
