I tied my cleat lace and lowered my socks. My shinguards were already tucked in.

"Mia! Hurry up and get down here!", my helpless brother shouted from the kitchen.

He was probably stuffing pizza into his mouth and being lazy watching a movie.

I kept my pace as I skipped down the stairs and stood in front of Miles.

"I'm ready."

"Mia, I'm not taking you to practice. You're taking yourself.", he murmured.

I mentally slapped myself.

"Sorry, I forgot."

I picked up my water bottle and rushed to the garage to get in my car.

My self esteem needs to be better. I have practice today, a tournament all next week, and school.

My phone light lit up. I pressed the speaker button.

Hey Aud, I'm on my way right now. What's up?

Hey Mia. Do you have an extra water bottle?

Uh, yeah. Did you forget yours again?

Sorry, I always do. And you know that.

I'll give you my extra one. Audrey, you always forget so I alway remember!

Thanks Mia, see you at practice.

Ok bye Aud.

I let out a big sigh as I turned the car into the parking lot of the field.

Audrey came running to me. Her bleach blonde hair pulled back in a pony tail. She wore our practice uniform with her blue Nike cleats.

"Mia!", she shouted wrapping her arms around me.

"So where's my water?"

I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"Here you go Mrs.I forget my water."

She took the bottle and ran off with our team. I put on my bag and ran after her.

"So Mia, how's school?", Audrey asked me as she set out some cones on the grass.

"School is the same. I always get the same boring straight A's, same boring classes, and same boring people"

Audrey put down the last cone and looked up at me.

"How about Nick? Is he coming back?"

My hand let go of the cones. The world began to spin. My hands filled up with sweat and my heart beated fast.

I haven't talked about Nick since he left. I have been a little depressed without him.

"Audrey, it's been four months since Nick left. I don't really want to talk about that right now."

"But do you guys still talk?", she asked as we walked to our bags.

I took out my pre-wrap and made myself a headband.

"Yeah. But only when he's not busy."

A tear rolled down my cheek.

"I'm sorry Mia. I didn't mean to make you cry.", she began.

"It's ok Audrey. L-lets just not t-talk about this right now."

~Nick POV~

"Taylor, do you have food?", I asked my tv sister as she rummaged through her purse.
