Dahlia had to walk past the huddled group that she was trying to get as far away as possible. As she walked past Shaun, he grabbed her by the hand.

" Hey Dahlia i want you to meet-"

"Yeah, I know exactly who they are," she said as she snatched away her hand back from his hold.

She started to walk away when she heard a pathetic voice.

"Hey Dal, long time no talk babe." Ray spoke as he grabbed tightly to the blonde that Dahlia last saw on top of him.

Just the fact that he used his seductive voice when he called her that petty name while he clung to that pathetic barbie doll was enough to set her off.

**¡slap!** Dahlia had walked up to Ray and full on slapped him across the face leaving his cheek blazing red.

"As I said before you are both pathetic and still remain as stupid as before. If possible, you may just look even more stupid than I last saw you clinging to your tiny balls...." Dahlia stated calmly but with venom biting each word.

"... and you still look as slutty as you did naked in the street with that piece of cloth that you call a dress on you. At least show some self respect and class. Or at least cling to the little dignity I left you with on that street."

Dahlia said, dangerously close to the girls face that she could smell the stench of cigarette in her breathe.

Thank the Lord that they where in an area private enough not to cause any commotion. Just as Dahlia was walking away from a stunned Shaun and the worthless couple Ray's sister, Reina, had unlatched herself from from Shaun.

Reina stomped her wedges over to her and grabbed a handful of Dahlia's hair.

"Look, pendeja, you don't slap my brother and did her girlfriend like that without dealing with me-", Reina started but never finished because Dahlias rage had tooken over the moment Reina layer a hand on her.

Without thinking twice, Dahlia twisted around and got her hair out of her hand and grabbed Reina's bleached and burnt hair. She pulled her outside to avoid the scene being played out inside and slammed her against the wall.

"Look Reina, it's one thing to defend your brother but it's another thing to lay a hand on me so unless you wanna keep your face , as fake as it is, then you might want to reconsider your next moves. Got it? " Dahlia said with pure rage in every word.

Reina backed away cautiously like a scared chihuahua which almost made Dahlia laugh her head off yet she kept her composure and walked away without a second glance to the guy she thought could have been the one...

As Dahlia walked into the ballroom to get her thing and her best friend, she felt a sudden urge to cry and it resonated in her body. The pain of seeing Ray with his baggage of bullshit and the last shot of ever actually finding love made her crumble to pieces.

She felt the tears begin to sting the corners of her eyes and searched quickly for Emmy but saw that she was having the time of her life with the guy she dragged onto the dance floor. They both clung close to each other to the band music which made Dahlia feel happy for her best friend but she also felt a pang of pain knowing just a few minutes ago she was ,too, dancing with Shaun that way as well.

Not able to keep the tears back, Dahlia rushed to the entrance with the tears streaming down her face as she held her head down trying to avoid the stares of people in her way. As soon as she reached the door, she felt the cool breeze sting her face and felt less caged in. She walked to Em's car and leaned against the door.

"Why does this always happen to me? Right when I'm allowing myself to love something always gets in the way.. maybe I wasn't meant to love or be loved.." she sobbed quietly to herself. She felt the agony of her heart being slowly broken into pieces. The empty void she though was gone was back and with that realization the tears started to flow in streams. She felt embarrassed, deceived once more, and hurt.

Yet this time, she felt more hurt than ever because her heart felt so attached to him which had never happened to her before. She felt true and pure feelings towards Shaun.

She leaned her head against the car and continued to cry under the dark sky full of stars.

At the party, Shaun had walked out the same way he saw his princess leave upset. He didn't understand what had happened and he didn't know why she was so blunt with him yet all he knew is that he couldn't let her get away.. he had just found her and wasn't going to loose her.

He looked through the parking lot searching his Dahlia desperately when he heard the most heart breaking sound he could ever hear.... the quiet sobs of his princess. He followed the sad whimpers and found her resting her head on a white sports car. The sight of her broken almost bought him to tears as well.

His princess was alone and crying. Shaun felt the waves of sorrow coming from her and didn't waste another second.

Dahlia felt the cold breeze be replaced by a warm presence. Shaun pulled her around to meet her gaze cautiously , not wanting to get punched in the face. Dahlia hesitated a little but welcomed his comforting arms and felt relief as he wrapped his arms tightly around her.

Without another word, Dahlia cried softly until she couldn't cry anymore. Once she settled down, Shaun raised her chin up to him and settled his gaze onto her beautiful face that was light up by the radiant moon.

"I never want to see those tears in your eyes princess" he said as he brushed away her tears.
