It was freezing cold and I had to walk home instead of my mum picking me up as she was at work. I decided to stop off at Starbucks and ordered myself a warm drink. It was beginning to get really cold here in the US. (A/n I'm not American but I want it to be set in the US)

After ordering my drink I carried on walking home. I finally reached my house and I quickly got in doors. I took of my vans and coat and walked into the living room. I wasn't expecting to see anyone sitting there!

"Jake!" My eyes were wide "W-what are you doing here?" I stuttered

"Well, I came here to surprise my mother and sister... Come here" he pulled me into a hug while chuckling.

"I've missed you so much"

"I've missed you too sis, so .. how's school going?" He asked as we sat down.

"Oh, it's going good" I lied. I mean I weren't gonna sit here and just dump all of my problems onto him. Besides, mum doesn't know either and she's never suspected anything so it's fine.

"Good, I'm so glad you're doing well... You know, dad would be proud of you" he smiled sadly.

"Yeah... I-I know" I answered awkwardly looking to the ground. I hate it when our dad is mentioned. I just want to curl up into a ball and cry.

"I know you miss him... I do, mum does too but we have to be strong" he comforted me

I missed not having my dad around anymore. I was always a daddy's girl until he went away to fight in the war. Sadly, he got shot in his stomach and he didn't make it. It was heart-breaking. When it was my 6th birthday, he was once in a box and I had to open it to see what was inside it. That was the last time I've ever seen him. It's now been 11 years without him. It's been tough, but I've got through it.

"I know" I sighed "how long you staying here for?" I asked, changing the subject

"I was going to ask mum if I could move back here until I find a job round here and get my own place" he smiled

"Really!?" I yelled

Jake nodded his head and laughed while hugging him.

I woke up early and decided to go downstairs to make a hot chocolate. After my hot chocolate, I got ready for school and I had 5 minutes left before mum drove me to school.

As my mum pulled up at school, I said goodbye to my mum and Jake and walked to my locker. I shut my locker door and turned round to see Calum standing there.

"Hello Lucia" Calum smiled

"H-hello" I replied quietly as I looked to the floor.

"I'm not going to bite you! Anyway, you're pretty brave for standing up to Luke yesterday. Me, Michael and Ashton wouldn't even do that!" Calum laughed lightly  What?

"But your his mates" I said, not sounding as scared. Calum didn't look scary, he looked so innocent.

"I know but can be scary at times... Anyway, I'll see you later in Literacy" he smiled and walked away.

I walked to my first lesson which was Geography while thinking about what just happened. Calum was just talking to me.. and he was being nice? It probably won't last long.

"Morning class! So as you may know, my name is Miss Tollgate and today we will be working in partners for a project!" She smiled

I quite liked Miss Tollgate, she was actually quite nice compared to all the other teachers.

"Okay, so Luke... Your partner is Lucia. Could you sit here please" she smiled pointing to the table.

I didn't want to make a big scene so I just sighed as I sat down at the table, not even expecting him to sit there, but he did. I didn't look up at him. I didn't want to after what happened yesterday.

Miss Tollgate told us that our project will be based on a state in America and we had to create a 3D model of a place in that state and a fact file sheet about it. We only had 6 weeks to do it.

"So, what state shall we do?" I asked him. I didn't even know why I bothered.

"We? I'm not doing it" he cockily answered

"Whatever" I muttered as I rolled my eyes. I was pretty stupid to even think that he would do the project.

I had to admit, Luke was really attractive. He had his dirty blond hair styled in a perfect quiff, a black lip ring on his bottom left lip and he had really nice blue eyes. I could stare into them all day. The bad thing about Luke is that he is such a cunt sometimes.

~ Luke's POV ~

"Why do you treat Lucia like shit?" Calum asked as we sat down in the canteen

"I don't, but you don't treat her any better Cal" I answered

"Yeah well I was talking to her today .. and she actually seems nice. Maybe we should be nicer to her" Calum suggested

Pfft, what was he on?

"And she's good looking" Ashton added

"True" Calum and Michael agreed

"Pfft, she's hardly good looking" I rolled my eyes "Are you guys on something?"

"Why don't you ask her out?" Michael laughed

"You want me to ask her out!?" I laughed

"We dare you" Ashton said looking straight at me

"Why?" I asked, confused. Where was all this coming from?

"Because, then you will actually get to see what she's like. You will start to notice how nice she is" Calum said

"And how good looking she is" Michael winked as I chucked my empty bottle at him

"Okay?" I answered it making it sound more like a question 

To be honest, I have no idea why they want me to but I'm going to do it. To be honest, it could be quite a laugh. I then realise that I'm somehow going to have to get closer to her.
