the sun wasn't even fully up yet and sai'elle was already in the kitchen stressing like she was hosting the grammys instead of a paw patrol birthday party.
she had on her bonnet, her slides, with her little pregnancy bump poking out, and she kept opening the fridge like new food was going to magically appear.
a very sleepy analeya came in behind her squinting like a confused cat. "baby... you been standing in front of this fridge for three minutes. you tryna teleport or something?"
sai'elle closed it hard. "ion know what i'm looking for. i'm just nervous."
"it's a birthday party, not the hunger games." analeya walked over and kissed her cheek.
sai'elle leaned into it but still sighed dramatically. "she turning five, leya. five. she's growing up so fast. what if she think i'm replacing her when the baby gets here?"
"she literally sleeps on your chest like she pays rent." analeya said, grabbing a water bottle. "she not going nowhere."
"still..." sai'elle rubbed her belly. "i don't want her to feel left out."
before analeya could answer, little footsteps came running down the hall like a stampede.
"mommy! i'm five today!" emoni yelled, hair all wild and her pajama pants inside out.
she charged into her mothers legs like a tiny linebacker.
"yes you are my big girl!" sai'elle picked her up and spun her. "happy birthday!"
"happy birthday baby." analeya said, kissing the top of her head.
"thank you mommy & momma leya." emoni said shyly.
"you're welcome big girl!" leya said tickling her stomach.
emoni bust out laughing and then quickly got serious.
"where paw patrol?" emoni asked.
"ain't even ate breakfast yet and she ready for the party." analeya laughed.
"i want cake." emoni pouted.
"at ten in the morning?" sai'elle asked with her eyebrow raised.
"yes."
"no." sai & leya said at the same time.

they got emoni washed up, dressed in her little paw patrol shirt and jeans, and then it was game time.
decorations were already up thanks to sai'elles homegirls.
balloons everywhere, paw patrol plates, a giant paw patrol cutout, and a banner that sai'elle kept fixing even though it was already straight.
