As you can see I get this comment often and I come here to admit that the reason why you get this feeling is because it's partially true.

Sometimes I get ideas for a story and struggle to connect with the characters and make them have realistic interactions because believe it or not I haven't lived any of those things and I didn't want to write nonsense. I also didn't want all spice and no depth.

So my technique (before the new updates) was to write the big idea, make a draft, then fully create my characters in a chat and make them interact. Like I would edit the chat with what I wrote (before the update there was no memory) but even then I just selected the things that I liked the most.

For those who might think it's bullshit here's an example of some draft that I have

Anyone who knew C.ai before the update knows that the characters would either lose the plot completely or just drop some random thing that makes it deeper and it was very censored too, like you could barely make the characters kiss and also how are we in a car and suddenly you're tossing the character on the bed?? (😂it didn't make any sense at all).

So I was mostly just having fun with them because it's interesting to make characters you're gonna write about interact.

And I would also create random characters that would inspire new stories like "The neighbor next door". It was supposed to be a college boy having a crush on his older woman neighbor but as I had already explored the age gap theme I used the inspo to write a different story.

After a bit with all the restrictions I got bored with C.ai, deleted my profile, and uninstalled. I don't know how it would work now with the new updates but if I get new ideas and I'm able to write a good draft I might try again for a new story.
