Where was Britney? In hospital, again. Right now the nurse was stitching her up and asking questions Britney didn't want to answer. They were still on the "how did this happen?" Question.

"I couldn't tell you" Britney replied, adding, "I can't remember." Of course the nurse didn't believe her, the nurse looked at her and raised her eyebrow. Britney broke eye contact and looked at the nurses name badge, it read 'Nancy'. Britney crinkled her nose as she read Nancy's name badge.

"Are you sure you can't remember?" Nancy asked again.

"Sorry Nancy... I really can't" Britney frowned as if she was trying to remember. She was a good liar. But Nancy didn't seem to believe her.

"Surely you would remember something like that" Nancy said, trying a more casual approach.

"Yes, you would think so" Britney replied and smiled a little. Yes, Britney did feel a little smug. That didn't last very long

"I'm just going to get Dr Smith" Nancy said and left the room. Britney watched as the curtain opened and the boys walked in.

"Why do they need to fetch the doctor?" Matt asked.

"My name must of flagged up..." Britney frowned, that was the only explanation, they didn't ask why, they all knew.

While Dr Smith spoke to Britney they had to stay outside. They weren't family and after last time Dr Smith didn't want anyone in the room. Britney didn't either. She was fed up with it all. She hated this hospital. "James" Matt began.

"Don't" James huffed, he knew this was coming.

"It has to be said and you know it" Harry said, leaning forward on his chair and holding his hands together. "You can't keep-"

"I said don't, I don't need the lecturer" James huffed once again. The boys weren't pleased, they didn't appreciate his attitude at the house nor here. They thought it would change when they got to the hospital but he was still acting like a child.

"James, I don't understand why your acting-"

Danny was cut off by James, "and I certainly don't need a lecture from you"

"Oh! James grow up! Please! This is getting boring!" Tom raised his voice, standing up and walking in a circle, "Britney is in there right now, probably freaking out after everything going on!" Tom was forcing his anger down, "we welcomed her and made sure she felt comfortable, under your request! Now your making this even harder for her!"

"I don't know what you're on about! You didn't even like her when she arrived" James raised his voice and stood up in his chair, leaning forward and pointing at Tom. Which of course made Tom hostile as well as the others.

"Alright guys" Matt said, pushing them away from each other. All of this attracted attention of the nurses passing and so some were approaching them.

Britney and Dr could hear some of the events unfolding outside, which made Dr Smith question Britney even more. "So why are you with them?"

"They're helping me with school work" Britney began, jumping off the bed, "Music obviously... I want to enter the school competition but you need to write your own music and to do that I need to-"

"Yeah, okay" Dr Smith cut her off, for some reason she was able to lie to him better, or perhaps she did really want to learn to write her own music and that was her own aspirations coming through. Britney guessed she would never know. "Right, I think-"

"Great! Thanks!" Britney said and was almost in the clear, that was until she opened the door to see Jenny standing there awkwardly just staring at McBusted.

"Where's Charlie?" Jenny asked, pointing to them and looking at Britney.

"Not here" James mumbled, Jenny seemed to have touched a nerve but also interrupted a heated conversation.

"Jennifer, thank you" Dr Smith said, letting Jenny into the room. "I thought it would be nice that you got to speak to Jennifer again, to get anything off your chest that you have been holding in..."

To Britney it seemed like a question but she knew she didn't have a choice. She wanted to say something back, maybe. "If I had wanted to speak to her I would have phoned her," but she kept quiet. Just like usual. What Britney wanted to do is run, she wanted to get away. Not as in the clichés you see in novels films, she wouldn't grab someone's hand and say "let's run away", she would run on her own. Where? She didn't know, she'd just follow the roads, as long as they didn't lead to her father. Dr Smith left the room after talking to Jenny in quiet, while Britney watched in the corner of her eye. She didn't know what was said but she could guess.

"Hey Hun" Jenny said, sitting on her bed. Britney looked at her gone out. "What?" She asked, then answered her own question, "I'm just trying my best, I know you won't tell me."

"I already told him, they're helping me with music, I want to learn how to write songs for the competition" Britney lied again, rephrasing what she had said before. Even Jenny didn't know if Britney was lying or not, she frowned at her, "I'm not lying Jenny, I really can't remember what happened, it's all a blur..." Britney trailed off and started to cry, she was getting good at this.

Jenny pulled her into a hug, "oh Britney, I'm sorry" she soothed, "it'll be okay." After about five minutes of Britney fake crying, that's what she told herself, but surely some of it had to be real? Jenny had went out to fetch Dr Smith and 'report back' to him. God knows what she said to him but it worked and Dr Smith allowed her to go, of course Britney decided she should cry a little when they walked in, which Jenny reacted to immediately by helping her up and wrapping her arm around Britney, rubbing her arm as she guided her out of the room. "Are you sure-"

"I'll be okay" Britney sniffed, feeling a little smug again as she quoted one of McFly's songs. "Sorry- for making- you come all the way- down here- so late" Britney stuttered.

Jenny waved her off, "it's fine, I might see you some time soon, yeah?" Jenny asked

Jenny waved her off, "it's fine, I might see you some time soon, yeah?" Jenny asked. Britney nodded, she didn't feel like lying to her again so she nodded. Jenny could see Britney didn't mean that.

"Shall we?" Matt asked as the silence became thicker. There was a mumble and Matt took that as a yes, he took his jacket off as they walked to the exit and placed it around Britney's shoulders, "It's raining" he said, they were parked a bit away from the doors.

"Thank you" Britney said, she was very quiet. They could all see that.
