I watch both girls leave, spurring me into action. I haven't gotten to talk to Amanda all day, and now was my only chance.

I leave the defense to practice while I chase after Amanda.

"Amanda, wait!" I yell after her.

I watch as the girls turn around to face me.

I reach and grab Amanda's hand in mine. She looks down at our conjoined hands, then looks back up with confusion.

"Reece," she said in a confused whisper. Her deep blue eyes were sparkling sadly. I sucked in a breath, getting lost in her eyes.

"Can we talk? Please?" I put my other hand over ours, pleading her to say yes, "I think we are overdue for a conversation."

Amanda takes a step back, releasing my hands and shaking her head. "I don't.... think that's a good idea." She clasped her hands together and looked down.

"I just need a chance to explain...everything this time. The whole story. I'm ready to-" I was cut off by the different pair of blue eyes next to Amanda.

"She said no, so let her be..,ok? She obviously isn't comfortable talking to you right now."

I looked over Marshall with a death glare.

"What are you doing here? Trying to hit me a second time today?"

"If I have to! Amanda doesn't want to talk to you, and frankly neither do I." She said with an edge.

"Hmm, last I checked you weren't invited to the conversation!" I raised my voice at her for the second time today, getting even more frustrated by the second.

Marshall gave an unamused laugh. "Well good luck talking to your bedroom walls tonight because the only person you did invite didn't RSVP and declined your invitation."

This girl is infuriating. I clench my fists at my sides trying not to explode on the brown haired she-devil.

"What's going on?" Easton comes behind me and grabs my shoulder. "Hey deputy, you good?"

I turn my head to look at Easton confused on who he is talking to.

I look back at Marshall, who is as red as a tomato and giving a shy smile to Easton.

What the fuck?

"Yeah, sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your practice...at least this time." she says with an awkward chuckle.

Easton flashes his dimpled smile at her, "You aren't interrupting anything Dep, I'm just here to grab Reece." He pulls my shoulder back so I am half facing him. "Coach wants you back at practice for the huddle."

I sigh and look back at Amanda, "We'll talk later ok? Whenever you're ready."

She nods, and Marshall glares at me before pulling Amanda's elbow to turn and walk out of the station. As the are leaving, Marshall turns around to stick her tongue out at me.

Easton starts laughing from behind me, making Marshall's cheek redden again, before turning back around with Amanda in tow.

I look at Easton incredulously. "How did you do that?"

"Do what?" He asks, giving me a funny look.

"Make her shut up!"

Easton looked confused again. "You were doing a good job of that all by yourself." He says with a chuckle.

I roll my eyes. "Not Amanda. Marshall."

"Deputy? I've barely heard her say anything except for a few words today."

It was my turn to look confused.

"Boys! Get your asses over here!" Coach yells from the field.

Easton pats my pads twice before hustling over to the field. I look one more time at the two girls retreating figures, before doing the same.

Tomorrow... Tomorrow I'll talk to her, even if she doesn't want to listen.

Tomorrow my ass.

It's like Amanda hired her own personal body guards. If it's not the gaggle of wannabes she calls friends it's Karson hanging onto her. Every time I call her name or try to get a moment with Amanda, she gives me a 'deer in the headlights look' before running away... literally, she ran!

"Yeash.... Tough luck man." Easton pats my shoulder from behind as we watch Amanda leave. "That's gotta hurt," Easton says with sympathy.

I roll my shoulder, effectively getting his hand off me. "I'll get to talk to her. Then things will be the way they were, you watch," I sigh, shaking my head.

"I hope so," Easton says beside me, "but hey! Cheer up man it's game day! If she won't talk to you, then show her what she is missing with your wicked arm tonight. Don't let this shit affect your game." I turn to him this time, half smirking.

"You want me to seduce her? With football?" I smile, of course that's Easton's solution. Our heads snaps to the side, where Marshall just shut the flap of the sweatshirt she was wearing... in her locker.

My god this girl is a train wreak. At least she isn't in neon today.

She huffs "shit" before yanking on her sweatshirt with no luck. Easton looks back at me, putting his hands on both my shoulders.

"Listen, if you can't get the girl using your words, then get her by being the bad ass quarterback on the football field. What's that old saying? Actions speak louder than words?" As Easton finishes his speech,  we both turn to Marshall who is now cursing out her locker, cussing under her breath.
"Exhibit A." Easton winks at me then lets go of my shoulders, heading over to Marshall.

"Hey, Deputy!" I watch as he saunters over to her, and I watch as Marshall's face lights up a bright red. He says something I can't hear, but whatever it was, it makes Marshall roll her eyes and swat him on the shoulder. He laughs, holding his shoulder.

I've felt that before. She hits fucking hard.

The minute bell sounds as I turn away, trying to think of a different way to get Amanda to talk to me.

Maybe Easton is right. Maybe all I need is to do is show her what she is missing.
