There was really a strawberry farm here? No way! Strawberries were extremely rare these days so you can imagine my suprise to Ali's words.
Ali made me bring a long-sword like knife and gun with me just in case any of these lunic things did come our way.
The farm was small but perfect. The fresh scent of ripened strawberries filled my nose. Now this was the perfect start to a day even though it was the afternoon.
"Work away Julie, no one else is going to eat them."
A slight bit of guilt crept into my mind. That's right. This town was going to be overrun with lunics soon. These lunics seem to scare a lot of people because they had a obsession with killing 'normal' people. To them, killing was a fun game. It made me sick, I'd rather die than turn into one of them.
I bit into my first strawberry savouring the sweet taste. "Mm.... this is sooo good." I squealed like while Ali laughed.
The sky was cloudless and the sun was beaming down upon us. It was just generally a nice day. It was hard to think that soon we'd be running from lunics.
An hour or two passed of devouring strawberries and joking around. "This is so much fun!" I grinned throwing myself down on a small grass patch beside the strawberries alongside Ali.
"Yeah, I've never had a bestfriend before or a friend." Ali gazed up at the sky.
"Well then you're lucky you're stuck with me!"
"Yeah-"A large yellow flash erupted from the centre of the town accompanied by a loud boom.
"Shit shit shit, lunics must have planted a massive bomb recently. Those bombs take three days to explode!" Ali shouted already after springing to her feet.
I hauled myself to my feet staring in horror at the town from the top of the hill we had just been relaxing on. Buildings were on fire and others were reduced to dust. Jordan was still there. My eyes watered up, how could anyone have survived an explosion that bad?
"Let's go! We have to see if the town hall in still intact. The meeting was held there I think."
I sprinted after Ali, Jordan was going to be fine. He had to be. No, he was going to be.
