I woke up to the sun shining on my face. " I guess I forgot to close the curtains." I said through a yawn. After the disturbing phone call I recieved last night I kept waking up screaming. I kept having the same nightmare over and over again. I was sitting in the living room reading, and then I would just get enveloped in utter darkness.

I would try to scream but it was like everything around me was soundproof. Then when I started to run the floor just gave away. I was free falling into complete darkness, when I started to see a faint glow. Before I could figure out where it was coming from I would wake up screaming.

I went downstairs to get some breakfeast, and realized that today was my date with Jake. "Oh My Gosh! I have nothing to wear!" I ran upstairs to get my phone. Whenever I have absolutely nothing to wear I borrow something from my best friend Lucy. "Hey Luce, guess what I am doing today." "What are you doing today Denny?"

" I'm going on a date!" I screamed into the phone. "Oh my gosh! That's so exciting Denny! I'm guessing that you need to borrow some clothes for this date?" "You know me oh so well Luce. Do you think I could drop by your house at around 2:30?"

"Sure, what time is your date? I don't want to be nosy or anything Luce, but you tend to take a long time getting ready for well, anything." "I know I know." I had heard this all before from my mom. "My date is at 4:30, so you don't have to worry about a thing." "Ok Denny just checking. See ya later."

"See ya Luce." As soon as I hung up the phone I ran downstairs. I realized that I had turned on the oven to make myself some pancakes, and in my excitement over my date tonight I had forgotten to turn it off. Fortunately for me I had already moved my food off of the oven. As I was finishing eating my breakfeast I could feel someone behind me.

I turned around very slowly, and what I saw horrified me. My dad was standing behind me dressed as Dustin Biever. I screamed and dropped my plate onto the floor. "Dad, why are you dressed as Dustin Biever!?!?!" "Oh hey Denny I didn't see you there. You know how much I love DV, and I am going to his CD signing today."

"That's great dad, but that still doesn't answer my question." Dustin Biever was a horrible pop star singer. But that's just my opinion, tons of girls go crazy over him. Yet I still havn't figured out why my dad liked him, and to be quite honest it was a bit disturbing.

"My fan group and I decided to show our enthusiasm for DV by dressing up like him. Anyway I better get going, wouldn't want to miss DV." "Okay dad see ya later." "See ya honey." At that my dad ran out of the house singing one of DV's songs. "Why did my dad have to be so weird?" I sighed and went up to my room.

I walked into my room and lied down on my bed. I was starting to drift off when I noticed a faint movement coming from the corner of my room. Before I even looked I knew what I was going to find.

Sure enough a big blob of shadows was beginning to form, but this time something was different. The shadows started to get bigger than they ever had before. I had started to see changes over the last couple of months, but this one definitely scared me the most.

They had already covered my entire wall and were well on there to covering my floor when I started to see a bright blue light. After a few moments I realized that the light was coming from me. The shadows started to shy away, and before I knew it they were gone.

All of a sudden I became very lightheaded. Before I could do anything, I passed out. The sound of my phone ringing woke me up. "Hello?" I answered grogily. "Denny! Where are you? It's already 3:30, you were supposed to be here an hour ago!"

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry Luce! I must have dozed off, I'll be there in a few." Without waiting for a response I hung up the phone. I was already late, and the last thing I needed was a speech about my tardiness from Lucy. She was an awesome friend, but she always seemed to give a speech at the worst possible times.

I grabbed my bag, and I ran out of the door. On my way to Luce's house it seemed like someone was following me, but I didn't want to concentrate on that now. All I wanted to do was go on my date with Jake, and have a normal moment for once in my life! Is that too much to ask?

I finally got to Luce's house about fifteen minutes after she had called me. I rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer the door when I saw someone duck behind a tree out of the corner of my eye. Before I could get a good look at my newly found stalker Luce answered the door.

"Finally! We don't have much time, but we will talk about you hanging up on me later." "Oh Joy." I replied as I walked inside still trying to see if I was being watched. I couldn't see whoever it was anymore, so I decided to worry about it later.

"What are you staring at?" I realized that I had been staring outside for about a minute, and I was beginning to drool a little bit. I was enjoying not having to think about anything for once, and I hadn't noticed that I was staring blankly ahead. "Oh, nothing. Hey shouldn't we get started?"

"Yeah, but seriously Denny, you have to be more responsible." "Yeah I know." She had no idea how responsible I have had to be for as long as I can remeber. Seriously, imagine having a reason to be afraid of every little movement. It is also very hard to try to explain to someone that you aren't crazy when you scream because you saw the doors shadow.

I have to work on being a bit more secretive when I get freaked out in public; it would save me from a lot of embarrassment. We ended up taking about half an hour to pick out something for me to wear, and about ten minutes getting my hair and make-up done.

So by the time we were done I didn't have much time to get to my destination. By the time I got to the resturaunt I was supposed to get to I was fifteen minutes late. " I really hope he hasn't left yet!" With that I ran inside hoping to have a normal evening for once. I had no idea how wrong I was going to be.
