Day 1: The approach
I know what you're thinking, Alex, why does day one have to be about approaching Aubrey, isn't that a simple thing that will take literally twenty seconds? Well let me tell you something, I am the kid at school who everyone avoids because of Jack, last year he decided it was an amazing idea to tell us that for our last day of the semester, we should all go in in our underwear. Yet, I was the only one who did it while everyone stood and laughed. So now, I'm the laughing stock at the school and 90% of my body is made out of anxiety, the other 10% being my hatred for Jack, Zack and Rian, also known as my 'friends'
Aubrey on the other hand is the ruler of this school without even trying. All she did was walk into school and the guys immediately chased after her and the girls envied her. Unlike your average 'popular' girls, she has no meaning to be popular and will probably punch you if you even step near her. I swear she doesn't even know who most of her entourage are. There's always been something off about that girl. She was apathetic, 100% filled with hate. Her 'friends' she doesn't give two shits about, and she's never even been in a relationship.
She's a snakebite heart with a bubblegum smile, and I'm 99% sure she hates me without knowing me, just of me.
Walking into school I groaned knowing that Jack wouldn't somehow forget about our bet and let me off, and if that did happen, maybe I'd believe in miracles. Immediately I saw the guys sitting in our usual spot before class, it was the old picnic style bench outside of our forum. Rian and Jack were throwing pieces of paper at each other while Zack was trying to break it up, casual day, I suppose.
I sat down next to them opening my planner and writing down my schedule. History, Maths, Break, English, French, Lunch, History again. Do I have any classes with you guys? I asked, watching them all stop what they were doing and finally realising I was here. The three of them leaned over the table to look at my schedule. ''None with me'' Zack said first, ''Maths with me'' Rian responded, getting quickly pushed out of the way by Jack. ''History and French with me'' Jack said, looking up and winking at me. ''Oh and don't forget our little bet'' he spoke before leaning back over the table and looking at the guys smugly.
The ring of the first bell made everybody groan while making their way to their first lesson. In my case, History, with Jack. I took a seat next to jack and pretended to listen to his nonsense about all the girls he's gonna 'pull' after school. I sighed as I saw Aubrey enter the class and sit down on her own while the guys eyed her up.
Midway through the lesson and I looked over to see a very confused looking Aubrey. I scooted over to the desk next to her and peered over her work.
"Answers B by the way" I said looking at her with a smile.
"Thanks but I don't need answers from a guy who can't even dress himself properly" she spat, bitterly refusing to make eye contact with me
Choosing to ignore the comment I spoke again
"I can help you after school, you know, if you're struggling with this class"
"Don't you get it Gaskarth???? Fuck off she almost screamed"
Which I took as my first of many rejections
