"Don't you worry about me, girlie! I got it covered!" McGucket announced proudly.

Still, she couldn't help but worry. "Are you sure?"

"Absolutely! I got four extra hands helpin' me out!" he said, grabbing her hands and shaking them excitedly.

"Four?" she echoed, eyebrows rising.

Right on cue, the doorbell rang. She watched McGucket shuffle to the door, swing it open, and reveal—

"Grenda? Candy?" she said, looking surprised.

"Hey, Y/n!" the two girls greeted cheerfully as they stepped inside.

"Don't worry, we've got this under control," Candy said, tapping her shoulder reassuringly.

"Yeah!" Grenda added. "You can just focus on your clinic stuff today!"

She almost laughed—mostly because she knew something they didn't: yet another pair of helpers had also volunteered to watch her clinic.

"What?" she asked, turning toward the two older twins standing outside of her clinic.

"You're gonna be out for the rest of the day, right?" Stan asked, planting his hands on his hips. "Well, leave it to us to keep the clinic running smoothly!"

Seeing the uncertainty in her eyes, Ford stepped forward. "Don't worry, Y/n," he said gently, placing a hand on her shoulder. "We'll follow everything you wrote in the database. And—" he cleared his throat, "I have firsthand experience with most of these creatures, remember?"

His small chuckle eased her nerves a little. "Okay..." she sighed. She trusted them— mostly. The healing part, though... that was where her confidence wavered. "Fine. But if something happens, please call... Mabel's phone."

It felt like everyone had suddenly taken over her responsibilities. Everything was being handled without her lifting a finger. Then again... that was exactly what a Mabel Pines plan looked like.

Did she mention that this whole thing was Mabel's idea? Because of course it was—especially if it involved pairing up her and Dipper.

The four of them—Pacifica, Mabel, Y/n, and Dipper—wandered through the mall's glossy floors, taking in the high ceilings and clean, modular shops. With the summer heat blazing outside, the cool air-conditioning felt like a blessing.

"Alright, gang!" Mabel announced, skipping ahead so she could spin around and face them dramatically. "I promise we're gonna have the best time today! There's a roller rink inside! Come on!"

Pacifica, Y/n, and Dipper traded amused looks, trying not to laugh. Mabel's energy was impossible to resist; it was basically an unspoken rule between them that once Mabel was hyped about something, the only logical choice was to go along with it. Wendy once said, "It makes life worth living"—and honestly, she wasn't wrong.

They reached the roller rink, and to their relief, it wasn't crowded. Pacifica bought the tickets without hesitation, and soon the four of them were sitting on a bench, pulling on protective gear and skates.

Dipper plopped down beside Y/n, fumbling with his laces. "Just so you know... I'm not really good at skating," he admitted, offering her a shaky smile.

"Well, lucky you," she laughed, trying to swallow her own nerves. "You're paired with someone who's never skated before. But hey, no harm in trying, right?"

"You wouldn't get hurt even if you did try," Dipper joked, bumping her shoulder lightly. Then he sighed. "But seriously... I have a strong feeling I'm about to embarrass myself out there."
