It was a beautiful day in Gravity Falls.
Even more beautiful when Mabel received the most wonderful news, more wonderful than her receiving the highest grade in fashionology. She let out an excited gasp, making sure that everyone in the Mystery Shack knew.
"Ahhh! Look what I got!"
Mabel arrived in the kitchen, where Soos, Melody, and Abuelita were eating breakfast. Dipper was out with his morning walk.
Soos raised an eyebrow, looking at the envelope. "Mail?" he asked, looking over at Melody.
"It's probably spam from the IRS. You can just put it there, Mabel," the woman with the light brown hair gestured to the side.
"But it's scented!" Mabel whined playfully, holding the paper close to her, snatching a whiff. "No one in the IRS takes the time to send in scented mail, Melody."
"Maybe times have changed?" Soos offered, absentmindedly glancing at the brunette as he ate a pancake off his plate. "It might be a way to convince—"
"EEK!" Mabel happily interrupted, eyes following the sentences. "It's a wedding invitation!"
"From who?" Soos and Melody exclaimed in unison, bounding over to Mabel to get a glimpse of the paper.
All three of them gasped, looking at one another— before erupting into a bunch of celebratory screaming that would've destroyed Abuelita's ears if she hadn't turned them down with her hearing aids.
"Ah! I can't believe it! Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland are getting married! This weekend!" Mabel still couldn't get over it, swooning all over the place. She'll always be passionate about the topic of love.
"I kind of predicted that, like years ago," Soos noted, chewing on his pancake.
"I thought they were already married," Melody admitted, sipping on her coffee. "They really are cute together."
"I know, right?!" Mabel beamed. "Aw, that's so sweet that they invited us! I wonder who else they invited? Melody! We should make dresses!" As if on cue, her phone rang from her pocket. She fished it out and answered.
Melody smiled, knowing who it was on the other side of the line. Anybody could identify from the way Mabel screamed excitedly.

Dipper finally came back from his walk, seeing the Mystery Shack from his point of view. He was naturally sweaty, a towel around his neck. He saw a calm, bustling gift shop and went inside, making a beeline for the living room— but not without acknowledging Melody's greeting. He made his way to the kitchen and refilled his water bottle before retreating upstairs. He was halfway through the flight of stairs when he heard a giggling bunch on the other side of the door of his shared bedroom with his twin sister. And if there's one thing about his twin sister is that whatever was on the other side, he will always be prepared for it, for the chaos.
He knocked on the wood, and the giggles instantly quieted down. "Who is it?" followed Mabel's enthusiastic tone, muffled. He could hear the smile in her voice. Dipper responded, attempting to mimic her sing-songy voice. "It's Dipper!" but it came out deadpan.
"Oh, come in!" Mabel urged. "Is Y/n with you?" she asked after a beat.
"Uh, no?" Dipper immediately replied, genuine confusion in his tone. Why do they immediately think that he's at Y/n's during his morning walk? He doesn't spend his entire time with Y/n.
