The five of us gathered in Maddie's room later that evening with enough popcorn and chocolate to keep us going through the whole night. We had a pile of DVDs to get through and were lounging around the room. The boys were all on patrol tonight so we got the night to ourselves. Nat and Maddie were laying on the bed going through a baby book, Ellie and Wren were throwing popcorn into each other's mouths and I was sitting in the corner sulking. I couldn't be more pissed off at Nico.

"So, tell me about this Aiden." I say to Wren and Natalie. "Who the hell is he, and why is Nico so fond of him?"

"Well, at the academy, Nico's best friends were obviously Jace and Drew. However he also grew really close to Aiden who was his roommate. He's not an Alpha but he does have alpha blood in his veins. Just in case something happens to his brother, Aiden was also at the academy so he could learn how to embrace the alpha duties. " Wren replies.

"But didn't Aiden have friends from home that he was close to?" Ellie asks.

"Nope. Blood Moon's interesting cause it doesn't have a beta line. The last beta was killed a few years ago and he hadn't had any children yet. The pack's been waiting for Ezra to take over and reinstate a new beta line by choosing a second in command.

Ugh. Ezra. Everyone hated him on campus. He's always been sleazy and such a freak. He scares me so much. Everyone at the academy was ecstatic to see him graduate. We got to have two final peaceful years before the boys had to return home." Natalie adds.

"Okay, so Aiden's a close friend of Nico's. Still, he's known him longer than he's known me. I thought tonight was gonna be special. That we'd be so much closer now." I whined to my friends.

"It can still be," Ellie points out, "Just tell him how you feel when he comes up to bed. "

But I can't bring myself to forgive Nico so easily for this. Any other day, I wouldn't have minded nearly as much, but today has been a rollercoaster. I'm exhausted after my early morning and frankly, my shoulder is still throbbing painfully from Nico's mark. I'm allowing myself to hold the grudge maybe longer than is necessary. But I don't feel guilty.

"Not happening," I reply. I turn to Maddie and address her, " Madds, may I stay over for a few nights. Pleeaaaassseeeeee. I'll go run and get some pajamas and clothes so I won't be bothering you in any way. In fact, I'll keep you company and help you if you need anything. Nico won't get mad at you- don't worry."

"Of course, " She answers. "I can use the extra help. I'm starting to show." We all giggle and the matter is closed.

I run to Nico's room quickly and grab my stuff. We spend the rest of the night giving each other makeovers and watching chick flicks galore. At around three in the morning, Ellie, Wren and Nat leave leaving Maddie and I. We both look at each other and head to the bed.

"Well, I''m preggers no judging.' Maddie tells me.

"I'm not judging hun. I'm absolutely exhausted and I hate sleeping late so this works for the both of us I guess."

We both get into bed and are out within ten minutes. I'm awakened though a few hours later to banging on the door. Maddie groans and I realize it's Nico through the burning where my mark is. I apologize to Maddie and pad to the door. As soon as I open it, Nico grabs me and brings me to his chest. I have to resist sinking into him and force my body to freeze instead. I feel him let go and look at me confused.
