“All this is going to sound really crazy… because things like these don’t happen, ever… but this time it did.”

May 23rd.

Claire Lavon was an 18 year old thick girl, about 5’4’’ with soft pale skin, long brown hair and big brown eyes who lived in Los Angeles, California. She worked in a clothing store nearby her home to pay her studies in the University; she was studying music in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of music.

The everyday work in the store was quite boring and they always had the same clients who asked for the same type of clothes. Claire and her co-worker Lauren, a 32 year old woman, who had red hair and was much taller than Claire, sometimes used to joke around the store to kill time and finish the evening faster.

Claire was by the front of the store folding some clothes when Lauren came by.

-We should definitely ask for an advance… -Lauren said looking everywhere so no one else could hear.

-An advance you say? For summer? –Claire said smiling.

-Sure! imagine… I’m planning on going to the beach! –she laughed out loud.

-Excuse me Lauren, Claire, are you two doing your work? Because it doesn’t seem like –someone behind them said.

-Rachel… we are doing our job, you are the one who should be in the back doing yours –Claire said looking straight into her eye.

Rachel was really skinny and had an awful fake tan; she had bright blonde hair and was always dressed to impress.

-Jesus that bitch is so annoying –Lauren said while Rachel walked away.

-I know right… I can’t stand her and Ella –Claire said going back to folding.

Suddenly the door opened and a couple of guys entered the store.

-Holy shit! –Claire said taking Lauren by the arm and hiding behind a pile of clothes.

-Uh… what are we doing? –Lauren asked her confused.

-Did you see him?! –Claire asked whispering.

-Why are we whispering again? –Lauren asked even more confused.

-Shhh, he might hear you –Claire said as Lauren got up.

-Someone needs to take that client –Lauren said walking away.

-Fuck… okay Claire… breathe –she said to herself, trying to arrange anything that would make her look like she was working instead of hiding.

-Um, excuse me –someone said.

-Shit… Hey –she said getting up and smiling.

-Do you work here? –he asked.

-I… I do… do you need anything? Where the fuck is Lauren… -she whispered to herself.

-Did you say something? –he said confused.

-No, I mean yes uh… do you need anything? –she was avoiding eye contact.

-Do you have this shirt in a bigger size? –he showed a shirt to her.

-Those shirts are in that section over there, there is a girl attending that section, ask her she definitely knows –Claire said nervous.

-You work here and you don’t know? Why can’t you help me? –he nicely said.

-I uh… alright… what size is that one? –Claire asked as he looked at her confused.
