Mon, May 30th.

-Brittany? Uhm… I want to talk to you… -Dylan said to Brittany on the hall.

-What? Oh… Dylan I have practice now… Can you wait? –she said smiling.

-I really need to talk to you though –he insisted.

-Is everything alright? –she asked confused.

-Can we talk or not? –he nervously said.

-Alright –she said letting out a sigh.

-Okay so, we haven’t been seeing each other that much lately, you’ve been really busy working on your monologue and practice and—

-What’s your point Dylan –she said looking at him straight into the eye.

-My point is what is going on? Why are you avoiding me?

-Am I avoiding you? I’m just busy!

-But… listen Britt, things are not the same—

-I was just about to say that, I’m not avoiding you, I really like hanging out with you but things are not the same, we’re not clicking anymore…

-I know…

-I’m sorry it didn’t work out –Brittany said letting out a big sigh.

-It’s alright, I’m glad we’re being honest –Dylan said hugging her and walking away.

Dylan walked through the halls until he found Claire on her locker with a draw on her hand.

-You also draw? –he asked behind her lying on the locker next to hers.

-Oh Dylan… yes I like to draw once in a while –she giggled.

-Good to know… hey I talked to Brittany…

-Really? How did it go?

-We broke up.

-What?

-We broke—

-I know I heard you but… are you okay? –she asked worried.

-No but I will be –he smiled.

-Alright at least you did what you wanted to do –she tried to cheer him up.

-Right… hey do you want to go to the movies? –he asked smiling.

-Uh… what? Uh… now?

-Yeah I mean, in a few minutes –he raised his eyebrows.

-I… uh… I… already made plans –she looked down.

She was dying to say yes but she couldn’t cancel her plans.

-Hey Claire I finished my song! –Michelle said behind her excited.

-Really?

-Yes we’ll hear it later in your house; I think you can help me a little bit to get it perfectly! Hi Dylan –she said seeing that he was standing next to them.

-Hey…

-So yeah… I made plans with Michelle… -Claire said.

-Oh you were asking her out?! –Michelle said opening her mouth.

-No— I mean— Yes, to the movies, just a friendly thing –he said blushing and scratching the back of his head.

-Right oh… I’m sorry… we can do it some other day! –Michelle said trying to help Claire out.

-No, its okay, we can do it some other day! The three of us! –he smiled.

-Alright –Claire smiled back.

-See you later then –Dylan said walking away.

-What the fuck was that Michelle? –Claire said mad.

-What?

-How do you think he was asking me out if he just broke up with his girlfriend?! Are you nuts?! –she yelled.

-I’m sorry… Wait he broke up with his girlfriend?! Why didn’t I know that? I’m getting excited! I’m actually liking the idea of you two dating—

-But we’re not dating and probably never will.

-How pessimist, I hate that part of you, you knew that? –Michelle said making fun of Claire.

-Shut up.

-Annoying.

-Bitch.

-Cunt.

-Ok c’mon let’s go –Claire said while both walked to the bus.

Claire didn’t know how to feel about the whole situation, Dylan was sure acting really friendly with her, he even told her how much he trusted her but Michelle was right, she could be falling into the friend zone and she didn’t want that, every time she looked at Dylan she could stare at his beautiful soft lips for hours, and his big brown eyes, the smell of his cologne, his cute laugh, she could hear him laugh the whole day. She just didn’t know what to do, feelings are so unpredictable. She just had to wait and see, like everyone says, everything has its own flow, and if it doesn’t click then it’s not meant to be.

-How do you feel about spending the week with him? –Michelle asked.

-What do you mean –Claire asked rolling to one side of the bed.

-You know, after class, practicing your song and his monologue, don’t you guys spend a lot of hours together? How do you feel about that? Isn’t it hard not to—

-Have the urge to kiss him? –Claire interrupted looking to the roof.

-Exactly.

-It’s hard but I just try to ignore it you know?

-Yeah…

-Maybe someday I’ll fall in love and it won’t be him, who knows…

-Oh you’re getting emotional all of a sudden? –Michelle asked getting up from the bed.

-No, actually I just found the perfect ending for the song –Claire said excited.

-What?

-I know how to end the song –she took her guitar.

She started to play and then she took a pen and wrote the ending of her lyrics.

-That’s why you’re so good –Michelle said letting out a sigh.

-What? –Claire asked leaving the guitar aside.

-That’s why you’re so good… because you let your emotions help you and you make songs about that, you express your emotions through songs, I’m more closed and I’m not an emotional person so it’s harder for me to write songs…

-It’s okay Michelle, that’s something you learn… you learn how to express your emotions into songs, don’t worry –she giggled.

-You’re the best friend ever Claire! –Michelle said giving Claire the biggest hug ever.

Claire and Dylan kept on working together during the whole week. After class, two hours, she would go to the stage and sing to Dylan until getting it right, Dylan would practice his monologue with her, the movements and the jokes, the bond was getting strong with every minute they spent together.
