Hearts Burst Into Fire (Dylan O'Brien / completed)

A matter of time.

Tyler bought tickets for him, Dylan, Jill and Michelle. They were really excited to see Claire playing with her band since only Michelle saw her and only twice in small places.

Sat, Nov 24th.

They sat one next to another and looked at the small stage that was in front of them, there was a lot of people, most were Go Radio fans but there were also a lot of people for Claire’s band Hearts Out.

Go Radio played 8 songs and everyone sang along, the guys didn’t really know the band so they enjoyed the music but kept in silence moving their heads to the music. When the girls from Hearts Out went out they clapped along with the rest of the crowd.

-Claire looks so pretty, she got a haircut! –Michelle said looking at Claire.

She had skinny black jeans with a yellow tank top that said “danger”, she was wearing her hair straight with a fringe, heavy black smokey makeup and pink lips. She looked like a rockstar.

They began singing three catchy songs, everyone was jumping from one side to another and Claire was jumping with them, banging her head at the music and cheering up the crowd. Dylan was impressed, he has never seen Claire doing something like this, Claire had stage fright for the last thing he knew but now no, this was a totally different Claire, a better Claire. He could see how she wasn’t afraid anymore of doing what she loved. He had a wide smile on his face.

-It’s so not what I remember her doing when I first met her –Tyler teased.

-True –Dylan said excited.

After the songs the rest of the girls got off stage and went for a bottle of water, only Danielle stayed on stage with Claire.

-Well guys this… this is one of the latest songs I wrote –she looked at the crowd.

She noticed Michelle and right next to her she saw Jill, Tyler and… Dylan. She got breathless for a second but noticed she was on stage so she couldn’t just ran away. She smiled waved at Michelle and looked at the other side of the crowd.

A thousand things went through Claire’s mind but she only had minutes to present the next song, so she did.

-This song I wrote it when I was going through one of the worst moments ever, when I felt all alone and rejected, yes rejected, you know when you love someone who doesn’t love you back.

Dylan looked at Tyler and both shook their heads confused.

-This is for everyone who got stuck on the friend zone and weren’t able to say how they felt out loud.

She sat and Danielle started to play.

-I know that song –Dylan said to Tyler when Claire finished singing and the crowd started to clap.

-You do? –Tyler asked impressed.

-It’s… my favorite song from the EP –Dylan said smiling.

-I figured –Tyler teased.

Claire left the stage with Danielle and the guys waited for her to come out. She knew they will be waiting for her so she texted Michelle to leave because she was having a late bar night with the girls, celebrating the end of the successful tour.

The boys looked at each other and Dylan let out a sigh.

-When are we seeing her then? –Dylan asked Michelle.

-Probably tomorrow, call her tomorrow –Michelle suggested.

-Hey wait, tomorrow it’s Jill’s party! –Tyler said excited.

-What? –Michelle asked.

-Isn’t tomorrow Sunday though? –Dylan asked.

-And? Is there a problem with that? –Jill said laughing.

-Right –Michelle said confused.

Claire went for a few drinks with her band, after that she went straight home. He was having a lot of emotions inside, she wasn’t expecting for all of them to go to her show, especially Dylan. He heard the song, what did he think about it? Maybe he didn’t even notice it was about their friendship… but then again, Claire doesn’t believe Dylan could be that naïve.
