Today in orchestra we learnt that a dotted quarter note (or a dotted crochet... if that's how you spell it) plus a eighth note (or quaver) is 2 beats in all
So a dotted quarter is worth 1.5 beats, eighth not worth .5 beats.
So the teacher said, "What's one and a half plus half... Bella?"
Bella: THREE!
