Update: some implausible and incorrect information in the story has been corrected, for instance Thranduil was originally called Lord in the story but he was a King, and it would be impossible for Elearion to be 'killed' in Dol Guldor so it is now Gorgoroth where she sacrificed herself. Sorry for the mess up!

Thranduil paced back and forth the length of his tent for what felt like the thosandth time. He kept going over the battle in his mind, and yet he could not figure out how it was possible that the pale Queen that lay before him was alive. He glanced at her for a moment as she shifted in her sleep, she was no longer wearing the white robe, instead she had changed into one of the Elven King's many white shirts and a pair of silky gray trousers. As she turned he could see her pendant once again exposed and he remembered the day he'd given it to her.
Flashback
They had been in Rivendell at the time, right before Thranduil's father and Lord Elrond's attack in Gorgoroth during the War of the Last Alliance, both young in the eyes of Elves, and were hopelessly and madly in love. Prince Thranduil had known when he'd met her that there was something about her that was different from everyone else, the way they were together was unlike anything he'd experienced before, it was like exploring their own world together, always making new discoveries. Thinking about it, grasping the pendant in his hand, he was sure, he knew this was real.
Thranduil made his way outside to a small pond with a mirror like surface, it was said if one gazed into it long enough they would see their most darkest intentions, though Thranduil was almost certain that had been a story made up to scare the little ones away from playing near it. Even still the pond had become a sort of meeting place for him and Elearion as of late, he'd just glanced down once again at the light blue crystalline pendant in his hands when he heard the slightest rustle of leaves and footfalls on stone, practically inaudible.
As the prince turned he came face to face with what he deemed the most beautiful, and breath taking creature he'd ever seen. Elearion had not been wearing anything special, for she had not known it was to be a special night, but even in her simple silvery white gown, with her pale hair pulled slightly back, Thranduil almost believed her to be an ethereal creature not belonging to this world. "You have something in your hands." She spoke to him, her intution unfailing though not revealing his intentions for the night. Once she had arrived, Elearion had noticed that something was different about Thranduil, he was confident and nervous at the same time, relaxed and anxious all at once. "Ah, yes." Thranduil spoke softly to her, closing any and all distance between them, "Elearion, there is something that I want you to know. There is no one in this world whom I trust more deeply than you, nor is there nor will there ever be anyone else who'd I would want standing by my side other than you. Elearion, when I am with you nothing else matters because I am so immensely consumed by you that I do not care for anything else, all I see, and need, and want is you. You are all that I hold dear in this world. Please make this promise with me." Thranduil said letting out a breath and exposing the white silver chained pendant in his hand, tears were forming in the edges of Elearion's eyes and the ends of her lips were crooked up in a small gleeful grin. All the pale beauty could muster was a small nod and before she knew it the pendant was hovering just below her collar bone, shining against her pale skin as Thranduil's arms looped around her pulling her closer, a timid laugh had barely escaped her lips before the Elven Prince pulled her into a passionate kiss. He had never been happier, finally they were betrothed.
