Chapter 3

The clocks hit 7 and my doorbell rang, I opened up my old door to a smartly dressed lad with a pair of jeans and Ralph Lauren polo was standing before me, his dirty blonde hair gelled up perfectly showing his deep blue eyes.

"You look beautiful,I mean nice ,yeah you look nice" he said laughing.

I laughed a long with him as I walked down my drive and into his car. It had that new car smell that everybody loves!

We arrived at the restaurant the one where we went to on our first date,it was a great place but I mean a place a bit less memorable would have been a bit better however he was making the effort which was nice.

As we sat down at the candle lit table, the waiter came and ordered our drinks. It looked like it was going to be a long night so I stuck with a glass of wine.

We were just about to get into conversation when a group of teenage girls rushed over to our Table screaming,there mobile phone cameras flashes and begging Niall for autographs and pictures,it was so weird? I wasn't used to seeing strangers act like this with Niall,he loved it though.

After the screaming girls had disappeared we started talking, "so what's all this for?" I asked Niall.

"I haven't seen you in four years and Iv erm.. Missed you I guess" he blurted out while blushing.

"Yeah erm me to " I replied smirking. "So your pretty big now right?" I asked.

"Yeah , you could say that. What give it away ,the fact that a group of screaming teens just asked for my photo or that my teeth are finally strait?" He laughed.

"How's your gran?" He questioned me. I found it hard not to choke up,I felt physically sick.

"Her funeral was last week" I spat out. Niall's eyes went bloodshot and watered,wait was he crying? He rubbed eyes.

"I'm sorry ,I'm so sorry! She was an amazing women. She always used to tell me how proud of you she was ,how strong you were! " Niall said.

Tears rolled down my face as he spoke.

"It was cancer" I whispered.

After a long time of chatting,eating,crying,laughing... We finally left the restaurant.

It was manic outside by the time we had finished! Around 40 fans were gathered outside and crowded around the range rover.

An hour or so later we finally made it onto the road! "How about we head down the lake?" Niall suggested.

"The lake?" I said.

"Yeah,why not it will just be like old times!" Niall smiled.

And that was it,we spent the night running in and out of freezing cold water,dripping wet as we planked ourselves back into the car.

My phone slid down The side off Nialls leather drivers seat. I learnt over to clasp it at the same time Niall decided to.

Our foreheads touched ,he placed his hand in my hair ,I slid my head up,our lips touched and we kissed.

I pushed Niall away with my hand on his chest saying "it's been four years Niall,you really hurt me and you expect me the give you it all back just like that?"

"I know I'm sorry I had to much on my plate at the time but Iv never stopped loving you Lilly, I don't think I can."

(Flashback to four years back)

My phone rang to 'crazy in love' by Beyonce and jayz so I knew it was Niall,he'd just came back from the judges houses after being placed into a band with 4 other lads.

Answering I said "hi baby,what's up?"

"Can I meet you later?" He asked down the phone.

"Yeah sure,how about mine in about an hour?grans making dinner"

"Okay but I can't stay for dinner" he said hanging up.

An hour or so later Niall arrived nervously at my door,I led him through to the lounge seen as my gran had just nipped out to the shops.

"Lilly ,I love you more than anything and you know that right?" He said sitting a few foot away from me.

"Obviously" I replied smiling.

"I'm trying so hard to make my career work,Iv gotten so far with it for my age! And as much as I love you and care for you I think I need to focus more on my career at the minute especially with live shows coming up and I won't be in Ireland much."

"So your saying we should take a break?"

"Erm yeah"

"Okay,if that's whats best for you then it's best for me."

But it wasn't it wasn't at all. Niall and I had been apart for three days and I was distraught. Heartbroken. Lost.

(Present day)

I sat upright in my seat facing forward as Niall did the same.

"Come to Dublin with me" Niall inquired.

"What?when?now?"

"In the morning,I want you to meet my boys well band mates. I'm performing there tomorrow night,I'd love for you to come watch"

I was so confused on what to do. I hadn't been to a concert in a while I guess?

"Okay" I smiled ,even after the awkward moment we'd just experienced It turned out I was desperate to spend time with Niall.

He kindly drove me home.

"I'll pick you up at 10,okay?" He asked me as I leapt out car.

"Erm yeah,sounds good" I said without turning around to face him.

He was just about to drive off when I shouted.. " wait! Niall,I don't have your number and I mean I need it just in case,you know ?" I was blushing like crazy.

We exchanged number before a cheeky kiss on the cheek goodbye.

I got in and plonked myself onto my sofa,I was flat out! But before heading off to bed I had to ring Anna to tell her what had happened and where I was off.

Knowing her number off by heart I dialled it into my vintage style house phone. She picked up yawning.

"I need to tell you something"

"What?now it's like 1am"

So it was I'd completely lost track off time.

"Guess who came into the shop today"

"Who?"

"Niall"

"You mean like Niall,ex boyfriend love of your life Niall?"

"Yes I mean ex boyfriend love of my li-? Wait never mind but yeah"

"No way! Why?"

"He said he needed to tell me something but thinking off it he never got to say it however he took me out for dinner and we snuck off down the lake"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

"No I'm serious"

"You's aren't back together right?"

"No,but I'm going to watch him perform in Dublin tomorrow and we erm kinda erm kissed?"

"Yous are so back together! You just don't know it yet!"

"Shut up! We're not ,look I gotta go he's picking me up at 10 ,love you" I said hanging up and blowing kisses down the phone.
