-4 years later-

My best friend Anna was the first costumer in the bakery this morning.

"Morning sunshine" she said seating herself down at a table."how did it go breaking up with Darren last night? Anna asked.

"Dramatic" I said sarcastically, laughing with Anna. "I mean we'd been going out 2 weeks, and he wouldn't let go off me! It was quite embarrassing" I said to Anna as she sipped the freshly made cup of coffee I just handed her.

I turned on the radio and 'little things' by one direction was playing...

Anna looked at me, I turned away. I couldn't look her in the eye,not now.

"Hunny,I know you still love him but its been four years." Anna blurted out.

"I know but he meant so much to me and know he probably looks at the millions of girls chasing him everyday the way he used to look at me" I replied to her.

Anna stood up taking a final sip of her coffee as she came walking over towards me and placed her lipstick smothered cup in front off me on the counter.

"Iv got to head to work, don't let this get you down, okay?" She said blowing me air kisses as she walked out the door.

The day dragged on as more and more customers came in.

It was almost time to close when a voice asked me "can I have a homemade chocolate doughnut?"

That made me thinks off Niall ,he had that every time he came in.

I dragged my head up to make eye contact with the customer, pushing my hair from my face.

He had dirty blonde hair, the deepest blue eyes and an unforgettable smile.

"Hi Lilly" he spoke staring right at me.

"Niall?" I said with a smirk on my face.

After several minutes of awkward silence I finally built up the confidence to move.

I leaned forward and grabbed a doughnut from the cabinet below me,handing it to Niall after slipping it into a bag with 'the wee bakery' printed on the front.

He walked away and parked himself onto a near by table ,the shop was remotely empty with only a few customers dotting around.

It was 5 minutes past closing time and Niall was still sitting in his seat typing away on his iPhone in-between looking up and glancing towards me.

"Lilly?" Niall said braking the silence.

"Why are you here Niall?" I questioned him.

"I needed to speak to you, look its not about 'us' but how about I take you out later" he chocked up.

What was he on about? I hadn't seen him in four years and this is all he had to say? Or was this just leading up to what he had to say later? I was curious.

"Your making no sense Niall" I told him.

"Please just let me take you out tonight, not on a date just as friends,I'm only here for two weeks" he pleaded.

What did I have to lose, it was a Saturday night ,i had no plans,i hadn't seen Niall in four years and well he looked...wow!

"Okay" I smirked at him.

"Need any help closing up?" He insisted.

"You could pull the shutter down for me,it's a little stiff these days" I told him.

After Niall had helped me clear up, he offered me a lift home but It seemed to awkward and I had my own car by now.

He pulled away in his brand new range rover sport with a private registration plate reading 'N41ll 19' . I clicked the fob to open my fairly new but battered ford fiesta.
