TRINGG BEEP BEEP TRINGG!!!
Oomph! I woke up with a start and landed on the floor face down. Ughh, I just hate alarms, they may be a very useful thing for daily purposes but for me, they are like mental torture. I rubbed my nose and winced. Great, just great! Now, I will have to go to college with a bruised nose, looking like a clown. I may as well wake up before Steph comes barging into my-
"Wakey, wakey, Catty! You don't wanna be late today. After all, you have a date with a HOT boy in the evening! Come on, if you don't hurry up, you'll end up looking like a wasted hooker!"
Speaking of the devil...
"Ok, ok! I am up already, now get out of my room before I kick you out myself!" I grunted and swore loudly when I stubbed my toe against the bed side. Stupid toe.
A normal person knows better than to wake me up in the morning, unless they have a death wish. But, Steph being... Steph wakes me up in the morning everyday by singing in a high-pitched, off-key voice. I stood up and headed towards the tiny bathroom of the dorm. While taking a hot bath, my thoughts drifted to the date I have with a boy this evening. Steph set me up with her boyfriend's friend, partially because I never had a proper boyfriend. Steph says that I am 'just too picky and critical' as far as boyfriends are considered, but is it my fault that I want my boyfriend to have... some specific qualities? I will date a boy who is a serious animal lover, who doesn't have a trace of arrogance in his personality, who has a TONED body NOT the buffy one, who is a great listener, who is intelligent, has a good sense of humour and last but not the least, makes me happy when I think about him. I mean, I am not THAT captious...
Shit, I have been in the shower for 20 minutes! I quickly massaged my favourite coconut shampoo into my hair, wrapped a towel around my body and head and headed towards my wardrobe. I put on a pair of neon pink skinny jeans, pulled a floral printed top over my head, grabbed my 3 inches white heels and ran downstairs, outside the parking lot. Steph was waiting impatiently for me in the car and when I sat down, she threw me an irritated glance, started the car and whizzed past the streets towards Westen College. After parking the car, we rushed to our classes before the last bell rang.
The day flew by fast and before I knew it, the obnoxious sound of the bell filled the school, indicating that the period of torture had now ended.
"Sooo, ready for your date?" Steph asked, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"You mean the date I know will not be one, unless he turns out to be the guy who has all those personality traits I demand for..." I answered, knowing where this conversation will lead to.
"Cat! You know that judging by your demands, you'll never find a boyfriend and you will have to live your life as a lady with 15 cats and grey hair!" She said wearily.
"Hey! I happen to love cats." Steph rolled her eyes and gave me a pointed glare, "Steph, you know that I have looked for the right person my whole life and I know that, somewhere out there, he is waiting for fate to bring us together... I can't just forcefully like a boy just because I may end up a loner. I know he is somewhere and I am going to wait for him, even if it takes my whole life.."
"Ok, at least give this person a chance before making any decisions."
"But, you don't-"
"No buts, you are going to behave and that's it!" She said firmly and left the room. I guess I will have to go by Steph's advice and see what happens.
*********
It was soon 6.30, meaning Trevor (or was it Taylor?) will be here any minute to pick me up. I had changed into a pretty, sparkly dress with three quarters sleeves and had paired it with golden, pencil heels (A/n the pic of her dress is on top right corner of the chapter). I decided to wear my ever-so-favourite shade of red lipstick which enhanced the overall look. As Steph said that we were going to an expensive Chinese restaurant, I decided to dress formally but not with an "I am a snob and this dress is expensive than your car' aura but with an 'I am just a plain ole teenager who is wearing a dress' look. After a minute or so, I heard a car honk loudly, so I grabbed my red clutch and headed downstairs.
Whoa! He came in a limousine to pick me up? A point for me and a zero for him. He definitely wants to show off, so he's definitely NOT down to earth. The door opened and out came a handsome, scratch that, drop dead gorgeous man wearing a tuxedo. Steph was right when she said he was hot. He had shaggy, brown hair which had obvious been tamed by gel, he was quite tall, like 6 foot or something with a tanned complexion and deep blue eyes. I stood there, astonished by the whole situation.
"Hello, I am Trevor, nice to meet you, Catlyn", he said smoothly and with confidence.
"H-hi" I stuttered and was blushing furiously. He must have noticed me checking him out because an arrogant smirk crossed his face. Two points for me again! Arrogance and ego? Ahuh, cross that.
"Like what you see?" His smirk deepened.
"W-whatever, can we please leave?" I managed to get out of my mouth.
"Sure."
He opened the door for me and started the car. I had now calmed down and felt like myself again. Phew! I hope giving him a chance is worth it. Maybe he is not that bad as he seems.
We reached the luxurious resteraunt and entered. The restaurant was decorated with expensive looking ornaments and the lights were enough to light up a whole city. Elegant chairs and tables were arranged with wine glass and a flower vase. We took a seat and I scanned the menu. None of the dishes looked appetizing because I happen to hate Chinese food. I opted for the safest dish, beef with chillies and fried rice. The waiter took our orders while I took in the surroundings.
"So, your friend Stephanie asked my friend, Kevin to convince me to go on a blind date. To be honest, I was not at all interested but Kevin forced me. But now I can see it was a good thing I came. You look very beautiful, golden is definitely your color." I was trying my best to smile but it looked more like a grimace.
"Uh yeah. Steph was the one who forced me into coming because she thinks that I need a boyfriend, but don't you think that the right person always-"
"Yeah, whatever I don't care. You know that this is my father's resteraunt and he earns like a million dollars a month. After him, I will obviously take over and become the owner. Right now, I work in a company and approximately earn $100,000 a month. I am the head of the company as well as..." I droned out his voice and shifted back to my revery. He is definitely an egotistical person as well as a rude one. How dare he interrupt me? I am going to kill Steph. Maybe his perfect looks weren't able to cover his true inner self.
"... And do you see these shoes? They are made from pure leopard skin. And this tie. It is the purest form of silk", his last sentence grabbed my attention and I looked at him with pure fury. Now, I didn't even try to hide my scowl.
"Ooh, leapard skin? How cool, NOT! Do you even realize how many innocent animals are killed for conceited people like you who only care about their 1000 dollar shoes and their silk tie? And to think that you are proud of wearing animal skin. Disgusting! People like you are disrupting the whole ecosystem by killing the species for your stupid clothes, just so you can flaunt them! You know what? I am done with this shitty piece of a date! And... I hope that these weren't your favourite pair of shoes..." I practically yelled those words out. Then, I picked up the gravy of beef with chillis and dumped it on his shoes.
"Goodbye and good RIDDANCE!" I stomped out of the restaurant, caught a cab and went back home.
When I returned to the dorm, Steph was waiting for me and it was obvious that she had heard about the date. Great, here comes the lecture.Sooo, this was the first chapter. I know, not much of a cliffhanger but I promise it'll get better. Please comment, vote and share! Love you all XXX
