"Hey, Steph! Whatsup?? You're still awake? Looks like you missed me!" I tried to act normal but one glare from her shut my mouth."Catlyn Evers! Didn't I tell you to give that boy a chance? I thought you would listen to me instead of doing the wrong thing, but instead, what you did? You spilled the gravy on his shoes?!? How more juvenile could you be? And he is soooangry now that he refuses to go on another date with you!" Steph literally shouted into my face. I don't see what the big deal is. I just can't forcefully like a person, especially a JERK.
"Steph, listen! If you would have been in my place, you would have done the same thing. He was boasting about his stupid job and he even dared to interrupt me, saying 'I don't care' ... If a guy doesn't have respect for a woman, he doesn't deserve my attention. Like you said, I tried to stay optimistic and gave him a chance but I had enough when he started being a narcissist and even went to the extent of proudly flaunt his shoes made from PURE leopard skin. You know I hate it when people talk about themselves and not even listen to the other person, sorry to say, but your boyfriend's friend is an egotistical asshole!" I didn't like when people force me into doing something. I'll have to keep in mind not to listen to Steph and do what my intuition says.
"Cat, I am sorry. I shouldn't have screamed at you like that. You KNOW that I just want what's best for you. I would never purposely hurt you. Let's just forget what happened and go to sleep, it's midnight now and we have classes tomorrow. Boring ones!" She truly seemed sorry but I am not going to easily let her off the hook.
"OK, 'night Steph".
"Good night, Cat".

I woke up to the alarm with a splitting headache. I hope weekend comes soon. I really need to catch up with my sleep.
I went towards the bathroom and observed my reflection in the mirror. I am really not a good sight in the morning. My hair was sticking out from all the places and I looked like a hobo with dark circles and dried drool on my cheek. Ew! When did I start drooling?
I brushed my teeth vigorously until they looked clean. With the help of concealer and some bb cream, I finally managed to cover my dark circles. I applied a thin layer of eyeliner across my eyelid, some gloss to keep my lips moisturized, changed into a plain grey hoodie with black jeans and a maroon scarf to complete the look and left. In the car, Steph as usual started talking about school and a new cute guy who she claims to have fallen in love with. I nodded and inserted a few 'hmm's to make it look like I was listening.
Finally, the red coloured brick building came into our view. I hurried out of the car and went towards my locker. A cute guy was rummaging through the locker beside mine. From his back pose, he looked quite fit. He turned around and flashed a smile towards me. Me being me, blushed and smiled back.
"Hey, I am Liam. Liam Payne. " he smiled and a dimple appeared on his left cheek.
"Hi, I am Catlyn. You can call me Cat. Are you new here?" For the first time, I didn't stutter in front of a cute boy. I don't know but I felt really comfortable around him. His deep, green eyes had that "you can trust me" look. He also seemed sweet.
"Yeah. I am a transfer student here. Right now, I am totally clueless about where my first class is".
"Let me see your schedule... Oh, great. You have your first class with me, that is Calculus. You even have English, Sociology and Geography with me!" I was happy that he was in my four classes. I was starting to like him. In a friendly way.
"Cool! At least I'll have a familiar face in the class." He smiled and his eyes twinkled.
"Yeah, we better go now, there are only 5 minutes left".
