Chapter 11

*Cara's Pov*

We met Reid and Matt outside. Reid's hands were hanging loosely in his jean pockets. I walked to him and he put one of his arms around me squeezing me tightly to him. It felt good to be in surrounded by his touch.

"You look great Cara." He leaned in to kiss me. "How did I get so lucky?"

"Can we go you two lovebirds." Ashley said impatiently.

I pulled away from Reid quickly and we began walking together to the big pack house. The meeting was being held outside of it, and it didn't take us long to get there.

I held Reid's hand as we walked. Tons of packs showed up. From far away it looked like a sea of tightly packed people. Approaching closer we saw that everything was more spread out. Still, the crowd swallowed us up as we got closer and instantly I was seperated from Reid. "Reid!" I called over the endless chattering of people.

"Looking for your boyfriend?" A new voice said. "Cus I'm right here baby." I turned to see someone who was NOT Reid. My smile turned to fear. I shook my head. He walked closer, the distance between us growing shorter. "I don't usually have this effect on women, you ok?.". He was an attractive guy with short dirty blonde hair and dark eyes.

I mumbled a quick yes and continued looking through the crowd for Reid.

"Usually my charming good looks and personality, and -," he lifted up his shirt to show his six pack, "these babies usually impress the chicks." Was this guy serious? My fear transformed into laughter.

"Oh wow can I feel them?" I pretended to sound excited. He realized I was joking.

"I knew it would be too hard to resist." He winked lifting up his shirt. We both started laughing.

"Impressive, but I've seen better... on my mate." I smirked.

"Alright alright." He put his shirt down."What's your name?"

"Cara." I said turning my head to the other side to see if I at least saw Ashley or Matt.

"Max." He said holding out his hand for me to shake it.

"What pack are you in?"

"Blue Moon."

I smiled, "Me too." Or at least I thought that's what Reid said the name of his pack was. Somehow I had a feeling I'd be running into him more often.

"That means I'll be seeing more of you." He smiled confirming what I had guessed.

"Is that supposed to be a good thing, because I don't see anything good about that." I looked at him, pretending to be completely serious but that only lasted for a second. We both started to laugh again.

"Cara." I looked over to see Reid watching us, he was not happy. His face was twisted into a frown and his glare was directed mainly to Max.

"See ya later," I said quickly turning to Max. I approached Reid carefully. "I've been looking for you."

He laughed sarcastically. "Yeah right.It looks like you were pretty cozy with Max over there."

Was he jealous? If so there was no reason to be.

"Reid I-" He walked over to Max. I feared the worst, because Reid said mates could be very jealous. To my surprised they fist bumped and both stood smiling at each other. Reid beckoned me over.

"Cara I'd like to introduce you to one of the idiots I call my friend. He tries to act like he's a bigshot, but it's all an act." Reid smiled and my mouth dropped. Just a second ago I thought a fight would have broken out."Max, this is my mate." He smiled at me proudly.
