"Hey Mia"
"Hey Jess" I said rushing to put my apron on.
"So.....have you heard?"
"Heard what?" I said with a confused tone.
"Someone's back." She said trying to hide her smile.
And that's all she had to say to make me understand what she was talking about.
"Come on we have tables to serve." I said rolling my eyes while trying to laugh it off.
"Mia."
"Jess."
"Listen. I talked to Mama Liz this morning and-"
"Wait, wait, wait." I said making sure I heard her correctly. "You talked to Liz? Why?"
"Don't ask why. Just be ready tonight. I'm picking you up at seven."
"Jess I don't-"
"Trust me." She said with a smile.
After a couple of seconds of silence and Jess's smirk, I said yes. Earning a yay and massive bear hug from her.
"Get to work." I said laughing because my best friend was far too excited for tonight.

It was six in the afternoon and I was laying on my bed while listening to Green Day out loud.
My mother was asleep since she was extremely tired from the night before.
Jess:
I'll be there in 5
Me:
You said 7 -_-
Jess:
I know but I'm bored so I'm coming early
I left it at that and decided to get ready for tonight.
I put on my black skinny jeans and flannel with my all black vans.
There was a knock on my door while I was brushing my hair.
"Come in."
"Mia, do you ever go a day without listening to Green Day?" Jess asked laying on my bed.
"Nope" I said popping the p.
"I love how natural it is for us to just walk into each others house like we live here." She said smiling.
"Next time bring food." I said.
"Next time." She assuring me, "but tonight we're eating at Liz's."
"Can I just not go?"
"You're going. Plus I already told Liz and she's excited to see you again."
"How is it that you still talk to her after all this time."
"Because she's like a mom to me."
"Whatever."
