Callum's POV:
So I start walking towards to Magisterium, not knowing what to think. What's it going to look like? Are there going to be other kids my age? Only one way to find out I guess.
"Here goes nothing." I muttered.
I open the doors and walk in, I swear my jaw dropped to the floor. It was amazing! It looked like a cave, it even smelled like a cave! The walls were covered in shards of different shades of every color you could think of. Pink, aqua, lilac, red, yellow, silver, gold, and so many more. There were stalactites littering the ceiling, they made a beautiful shine against the walls, making the shards shimmer.
"This is amazing." I say to myself.
"Indeed it is, Callum." A voice says.
I snap my head to the side "Who said that?" I ask.
"I did," the strange voice came out of nowhere and I almost jumped out of my pants, "My name is Rufus, I will be your master, your guide, and your trainer; at least until you figure out who you are and how to navigate the Magisterium." The voice says.
"Um... okay? So Rufus..."
"You must call me Master Rufus, Callum."
"Um, okay? So Master Rufus? What happens now?"
"Follow me, I'll show you to your room."
So we start walking through the Magisterium, there are so many different ways to go here, what would happen if someone got lost? Would they ever be found again? My legs were starting to cramp, it felt like we had been walking for hours.
"How much farther do we have to go, Master?" I ask, exhausted.
"A ways, Callum."
A ways? We've walked forever. How big can this place possibly be?
"Isn't there some shorter way?" I ask.
"There is, but you wouldn't know how to use this way properly Callum. It takes practice, and full concentration on where you are going, therefore it wouldn't work, because you do not know what your room looks like."
"Well can't you just describe what it looks like to me?" I ask.
"Callum it doesn't work that way. Any false move could lead to death, now, let's keep going."
"Wait, can't you imagine it and just like... hold onto me?" I ask.
"Callum, no more questions. Keep walking." Rufus replies.

After what seemed like an eternity of endless walking, we finally came to a stop. In front of me was a big oak door with a weird looking symbol on it. On top is a triangle, on bottom is three squiggly lines, they kind of look like water, in the middle is this swirl and coming from the middle of the first squiggly line to the middle of the triangle was an arrow.
"This is your room Callum, I need to see your left wrist for a moment please." Rufus says.
     "Um, okay?" I ask, confused.
I give him my wrist and he clamps this metal bracelet on it, it has nothing on it, just a metal bracelet.
"What's this for?" I ask, trying to pull it off.
"It's your progress bracelet, for every year you pass, you get a jewel. You might as well stop trying to get it off, it's pointless." Rufus replies.
"So... I'm stuck here for a year?" I ask.
"For now, yes. At the end of the year, if you decide to go home then you may go home. I promise you Callum, even one week here is going to change your life. You will find out things you've never known about before, you'll find out secrets about your family, how your mother died. You'll even find out what happened to your leg." Rufus says while smiling.
"How do you know about my mom and my leg?" I ask, furious that he brought those up.
"You'll learn Callum, in time. Such information could crush you right now, you're not ready."
"Not ready? I've been waiting my entire life to know what happened!"
"All good things come to those who wait, Callum. Now, let's check out your room, and the people you will be staying with."
"Staying with? You mean I'm going to be sleeping in a room with other people?" I question, suddenly wanting to go home.
Master Rufus ignored that last question and pushes the door open. Inside wasn't very impressing. A small living room with only a couch, a dining room with a table only fit for five people, and three doors on the far wall. One of which, had my name on it. I didn't notice the two other kids sitting on the couch until they got up and walked over to the door. They looked my age, that's good I guess.
"Callum, meet Tamara and Aaron." Rufus says.
